also know as thunderbolts, which are perfect for projecting signs.
There was a thread on these not long ago. An easy fit just drill into wall and screw in, no plugs required.
I use a socket wrench which makes it easier. Incredibly strong fix once fitted

agree with Martin about leaving it to the professionals ( horses for courses)
I had a radio advert a couple of years back I did the guys car, I gave him a discount and he done me an ongoing advert. It was a little known local station but the advert was good from what I can remember, I don’t think I saved it anywhere 🙁

agree with Duncan always over build a sign like this, I’ve done a few like this over the years and still up looking good🤞

( what the hell has happened to the courrier system lately😱. another topic maybe)
I changed to this due to previous make fading so quick.
I haven’t checked how they are performing but will after reading this.
4 years service life if fitted correctly I think may be pushing it… if you only drive indoors maybe
9 months seems a bit harsh, I normally advise around a year but never been a great fan as once the colour begins to go it looks naff

Many years ago a guy asked for a cost to supply only and also to supply and fit.
He chose supply only, he picked his graphics up a few days later, disappeared and then came back in after 20mins to see if he could borrow a squeegee, only to find out he was fitting them in the road just outside my unit and hoping I would go out and help him.
I gave him 5 minutes of my time and advise and left him to it, cheeky sod 😕

Use a cardboard core with a metre or so of old vinyl taped to it and tape this to the new vinyl on the printer/laminator.
No waste and use over and over again.
Hope that makes sense, been doing it for many many years

Great work Dave, very effective and worth al the effort that went into it,

As Rob, I normally use 100mm thunderbolts and a 10mm masonry bit

The light was supplied by the client being electrical supplies.
I actually use Ashby trough lights now, LED ones look so much better these days than the old tubed versions.
Hi Rob,
The sign 7400 x 2440 is alluminium in 5 section,
Vertical interlocking bars on joining edges, fitted together beautifully.
Tray supplied by Ashby.

MemberJune 2, 2021 at 11:32 am in reply to: Tray signs, how tight do you fit the angle within the trayPersonally, I fit as snug as I can then the tray will sit tight while you fix, that’s composite or ally.
Fitted many over the years and rarely a problem, worst thing is making the space between angles to big 😭 done that a couple of times.
We normally cut a piece of wood the exact depth for the bottom angle to be fitted.
Also made a frame a couple of times which some prefer.
Did this one a couple of weeks ago, went like a dream

Most things you buy online these days no matter how small are followed up with a request for a review. Its the way of the world.
When we purchased a 3pce suite last year, after the sale the guy asked if we could post a google review, It didn’t surprise me being asked and had no problem posting one as the service was good.

I use 4mm cut to size or 6mm in 8×4
I just use Oracal 3164 unlaminated mounted to the board.
and the same kind of prices as most.
Makes me laugh when you are told your too expensive, NOT that the other companies are too cheap and have to agree it devalues our industry.. which a lot of people in our game just don’t get..
Prices David’s put on are crazy and obviously DTS which with vinyl you’ll never compete with.

Also done a few of these over the years.
I had to get them made in the end by a local fabricator in tubular galvanized steel.

MemberJune 7, 2021 at 1:47 pm in reply to: Tray signs, how tight do you fit the angle within the trayCorrect Rob, it makes joining the panels much easier and neater.
Hi Jeff,
No support, in the middle, just the top and bottom rails.
The fixing bars on the edges helped make the panels rigid even at 2440 deep there was no flex at all once fitted.
If it was ACM it would have needed more strengthening strips for sure
Being ally it was a fair weight so we screwed the rails right through the building into thick wooden batons that we fitted on the inside.
Lol Kev, It was actually on a slight slope😉
