    Hi All

Please can I ask everyone on the boards to look out for this van, pictures attached. Registration PS16GNS, LWB Sprinter, stolen from Chorley Lancs between 15:00 Saturday and 07:30 this morning.

I don’t know how on earth someone thinks they can get away stealing such a discrete looking van!!!!

    Thanks in advance

    Dave

Sorry to hear about that David, not the best start to a Monday.

Police wouldn’t have batted an eyelid if they saw it driving about. It’ll show up insured & MOT’d, and the thieves know it probably won’t be reported stolen until the Monday.

Some tenants on our estate had several take over the years, apparently it’s surprisingly easy on the ‘older’ sprinters to just drive off in it 😑

I shall keep my eyes open for it around Manchester 🧐

I’m very sorry to hear that bad news mate, I hope they didnt get away with any expensive tools inside. Its bad news. I hope you get it back quick, but I reckon it was stolen for the parts. The way things are heading with inflation, fuel price hikes and crime in general its not looking good.

I would highly recommend everyone considers buying a small tracker, I got a vodafone curve device, made for tracking pets, I can monitor the family car from anywhere, (Also keep an eye on the wife πŸ™‚ LOL, You can draw a circle to create a zone around the vehicle, for your work and home, or even when you park in the town. As soon as its moved you get an alarm, cost Β£3 per month, covers you everywhere in the world.

    Vodafone Smart Curve,

I hope you get some goods news David

@Khalid-Bashir I agree it could be for this too!
My mate owns GlobePrint in Marlow. He had a fleet of sprinter vans in to be lettered.
arrived the next morning for work and they had all been stripped down where they sat in the car park. bumpers, bonnets, mirrors etc gone from allthe vans.

Well no joy from the police so far but a friendly neighbours CCTV shows it driving off the estate at 17:43 on Sunday, other than the confirmed time there’s nothing to show the people involved or give anything else useful πŸ™

Fortunately its not having a big impact due to the jobs currently in hand, we’ve hired a van and we have multiples of the tools and scaffold lost. Totting the latter up looks to be Β£3-Β£4k worth of contents, possibly more. We seem to be covered but you never know with insurance!

Biggest pain is we’d CNC our own racking and storage system which we’ll have to do again.

I’m sure it will all be in parts by now but please keep looking for us! I need an address to call round with baseball bats and give them the good news.

    Cheers Dave

Yeah! van has been found abandoned in Bradford and is in a recovery compound. No news on if its damaged, catalytic convertor removed, any tools or scaffolding left in the back etc. but at least we aren’t starting again from scratch. As that was the final van due to get updated with the new branding, I’m really hoping they stripped the old wrap to try and move it on as a white van!

I know everyone has been out 24 hours a day looking for it but please now stand down πŸ˜€

    Cheers

      Excellent news πŸ‘

Let’s hope the insurance picks up the bill for storage, I’ve heard it can be rather hefty.
