A friend of mine mentioned this the other day, not seen anything on here about it yet. It seems to be a spray on, peel off colour change wrap. Don’t know if it’s a new thing or been around ages.

Not that one, I’m trying to find the one I looked at last week but can’t for the life of me remember. It’s basically a spray on procedure that comes in some really bright and extra shiney colours that normal wrap vinyls don’t come in. When I find it I’ll post a link.

I am aware of a couple of liquid wrapping concepts and as much as they appear to be great alternatives, there are always downsides that far outweigh replacing wrapping, as we know it!

You have Plastidip and you the Topaz skin.

Plastidip, in my opinion, is not something worth considering. I know several people that got into this business but then dropped it. they came on my wrap training courses after they had actually set up Plastidip as a business and had nothing good to say about it, and now trying to focus on wrapping as we know it.

Topaz, in my opinion, is something that the super-wealthy car owners would consider and the finishes look amazing! however, you need a professional setup and qualified spray people. purpose-built facilities, skilled tradesmen, paint mixing machines blah blah.
STILL, I have my concerns over this as I think what they are doing is spraying a base coat of Plastidip and then normal spraying of the vehicle similar to how we know spray paint to be applied. but with the added benefit that you are now able to peel and remove the paint, just as you can Plastidip, but because of the hard top-coats and lacquer plus PPF at the front, it is much more durable and not limited like Plastidip.
My explanation here may be naive and I have it wrong, but even if so, Topaz is definitely not a sideline I see wrappers or signmakers venturing into without significant investment and skill.

maybe i am missing the obvious, but why would anyone in our industry want to start spraying cars? i understand that the paint peels off, but I thought the whole point in a wrap was to get away from spraying and all the process that goes with it?
