Any particular rule?

Mod-Edit
See board rules please :police3: -
Depends, if you are talking just ink cost or media as well, power and depreciation on machine and wear and tear, I would think the ink is the least cost overall

MemberAugust 11, 2008 at 8:54 pm in reply to: what blades shoud i buy genuine graphtec or Edward Mathis?quote Peter Normington:quote Robert Lambie:do you mean you cant get an equal quality of a product under a different brand peter? i agree most budget alternatives are naff and a waste of time, but the pritnone ones are badged as Renown and that is a pretty reputable brand in its own. i always used original, then switched to mathias for a year or so… then switched to printone. never had any problems and neither the originals or mathias did any better a job than renown. if it did i would switch back as i believe in you get what you pay for.Rob, I mean originals last longer, but buy what you feel best with, this discusion, is actually a no brainer, the cost of a blade, is really peanuts, in the scheme of things. One blade can produce at least £20,000 worth of cut vinyl, saving ten or twenty quid on a cut price blade is hardly an issue.
the time to adjust and change pattern blades alone, probably cost more than the saving, again just my opinion
Peter
Hate to say it Peter but have to agree with you, I always use roland blades for the reason that they work for me, not cost, yes Ive tried Harries and they didnt last any where as long

MemberJune 27, 2008 at 9:25 pm in reply to: lazer print on tee’s is it a special ink or paperto lazer print on shirts you need special paper and a standard lazer printer, OKI is one of the best. Its nearly as durable as sublimation but not quiet, quality is great, BUT the area that is not printed on (paper) when pressed on a garment leaves a mark on the garment and will get dirty very quickly, we use it a lot for stag and hen shirts, were a picture is needed
Magic Touch seems to be the best paper Ive tried (ttc3.1)

never a truer word peter, BACK UP, got stung a few times not doing, worst thing is its not hard, just takes a good routine!. I would still go for more than one PC though
Ian
-
wouldnt bother with a high spec system for running a cutter, a 200 quid one would do the job just as good and spend as much as you can on the printer and design one, wouldnt be bothered by warranty, pc,s not hard to fix

Heavy duty cable ties, cost about 2p each, might cost 40p per banner!

Most embroiderers, would prefer an EPS Vector file, as auto digitising is becoming more popular as it improves, the standard embroidery file is DST file
Ian

if you really have to do it with a pen, use contour and check to centre then use .5mm spacing
but agree with others, waist of time

Contact xpress, as there is a known problem with inkjet dark, they’ve had a bad batch, it curls off the paper and the ink lifts when you remove the trasfer paper, I sent a log of 25mtrs back last week with this fault

Have you noticed too, that when you export in different formats, PDF or EPS or JPEG they all print totally different colours with the same settings, we have swatches printed in all different formats
