I know the truck Dave, used to do a bit for SBR. Its all fiberglass and smooth.

Ian, these things drive up and down our coast everyday of the week.

They are called B Doubles. My cousin drives B Triples in North West Western Australia, that’s 3 trailers.. and he drives for BP Petroleum. Lots of fuel if you have a mishap. He’s on incredible money though. A competent driver, not much traffic on the roads he drives way out bush. But, when you pass one on the road, the wind they create is awesome. You just hang on to the steering wheel with a tight grip and keep the car straight..

They are illegal to drive these long units in New Zealand though, so when they do the V8 round over there, they have to use smaller transport. 2 trucks for every b Double. Quiet a traffic jam by all accounts…

Very impressive when you go to a race track like Bathurst. They do a parade of trucks through the centre of town. Most teams have 1 B double and a normal semi, but some of the bigger teams have 2 B doubles. In the smaller towns in the country, its not uncommon to have the lead truck leaving town, while the last trucks are still coming in to town….

I ended up reading the article. 4 metres high. Those are some seriously big panels to be working with.

Those students did a hell of job.

I wonder which printers they were using to get these out. Soljet’s no doubt. Can’t wait for next week. I get to tackle two trucks. Two of them together doesn’t even compare to this project lol.

Living in Kalgoorlie, WA, I might have to get a hold of one of the quad-trains (4 Trailers) that travel around here and wrap them!

    Welcome to the boards John,

I’ve got a cousin in Kalgoorlie, local real estate agent (Linda and her hubby – can’t remember her married name tho 😳 ) and here dad, my uncle, does the Kalgoorlie – Port Headland run in a triple road train….. carrying everything from wheat to cattle I think. He does the heavy haulage from the mines too. My parents were over there last year and they froze. Coming from sunny Qld, they expected it to be really hot. Guess it is not always hot eh :lol1:
