  • what material can i use for football sponsor boards?

I have a job to supply some football sponsor boards to hang on rails around the ground
they have 5mm foamex which smash and crack with the ball hitting them, also 10mm is doing this too, I have suggested dibond 3mm, good idea, each board is 8ft by 2ft??

    Hi Matt

I do these for 2 local football fields and only use 3mm dibond as like you noticed foamex breaks. Had no issues at all and customer is much happier now with the better quality.

    cheers

oh and I suggest you round the corners slightly otherwise make sure there are no sharp edges, even the sides get sharp so even better if you smooth those off. Last thing you want is a spectator slicing their hands on your ad boards.

I use 10 mm Correx for pitch side signs at a number of footy clubs its cheap light weight and the balls don’t crack it.

thats good then, dibond sounds like a good move, thanks for that. Do you round your corners yourself with a jigsaw??

I also use 10mm correx for a cricket club. Cheap as chips, and they only have to last a year although the ones I did 3 years ago are still fine.
(You can get it in 8’x4′ sheets from Cherwells, only in white.)
