Grafityp are regular posters here I suspect they will have some suggestions for you.

Good luck with you new purchase. Is the DGI UV based or solvent?

    Full solvent Dave 😀

Our production plant in Belgium say in reference to 3.2 mtr wide vinyl, they cannot get the backing paper supplied in that width hence they cannot produce 3.2 wide media.

    Happy to oblige

David there are a lot of machines out there that will do the job, just depends what your budget is for said machine, anything from £700 to say £3,500 would give you a massive choice.

This is a good thread to read, the one thing no one has pointed out though is exactly where you are reading this, no not your location 🙄
but the internet, a website in fact.

So a company website is just another tool needed to help business flourish, its just the next new thing to get yourself noticed.

Sorry for the late reply to this thread but I have been away until today.

Jaguar models carry a 2yr on-site warranty and the problem you are having could either be sensor error on a pinch roller or motor error.

As I don’t know what your company name is could you please contact myself so I can check to see if your Jaguar problem has been resolved.

    Thanks

SignPal Jaguars and the earlier Ultra models allow you to use expanded mode, normally you would get say 580 to 590mm cut width, go on expanded mode and as Peter says it will look past the end of the outside rollers and allow you to cut 610mm.

Peter no worries, like I said it was to put "people in the picture" and I certainly didn’t take offence at all 😀

Harry we do supply into the Republic but carriage costs can be restrictive, as an example, upto 10kgs would cost about £27 to send and about 80p per extra kilo.

If you need specific prices then please just get in touch with our sales office or myself.

    Hi Adam,
I would suggest looking at alternative suppliers for vinyl. When I started I was buying in minimum 5m lengths which is much better than 10!!
There are a number of suppliers affiliated with UKSB who can help I am sure. The cost of membership is worth it just to access these people.
    Cheers Peter

Just to put everyone in the picture, we do sell vinyl in 5mtr lengths if you order via our sales office, send an email or fax your order through.

The 10mtr lengths are from our online shop and the price per metre is less when purchased online.

The only time you see this error on the Lynx machine has already been mentioned, not enough media.

Perhaps your software is sending the job so the length of the job is actually trying to cut across the width of the of the Lynx.

    quote Brian Little:

yep im with you steve ….what piisses me off a bit is when you get suppliers talking about Scotland as if its the back of beyond ……can get your vinyl ..but only buy chinnock.I think Glasgow was the first city in the UK to have a motorway system that was the envy of europe …that came right thru the middle of the city .To the suppliers watching …yes there is parts of Scotland that are rural ….here is a few i will list for your benifit …….Ullapool (stunning if you ever get there )…Gairloch…about 35 miles up the road ….Durness…they may be rural …but theve all got main roads going to them …so come on suppliers give me a break ….oh and theres no risk of being gored to death by reindeer or haggis 😀 😀 😀

Brian, its not us suppliers (well maybe the ones who deliver themselves) but ourselves rely on couriers and therefore are somewhat tied to what they can or cannot / want or don’t want to do. Going on what Steve said about couriers failing a 10am delivery, consider this, we spend over 100k a year on couriers and suffer exactly the same issues.

So you could say we both suffer the same on this one

This is the story of Rindercella and her sugly isters.

Rindercella and her sugly isters lived in a marge lansion. Rindercella
worked very hard frubbing sloors, emptying poss pits, and shivelling
    shot.

At the end of the day, she was knucking fackered.

The sugly isters were right bugly astards. One was called Mary Hinge,
and the other was called Betty Swallocks; they were really forrible
huckers;they had fetty sweet and fetty swannies. The sugly isters had
tickets to go to the ball, but the cotton runts would not let
    Rindercella go.

Suddenly there was a bucking fang, and her gairy fodmother appeared.
Her name was Shairy Hithole and she was a light rucking fesbian. She
turned a pumpkin and six mite wice into a hucking cuge farriage with
six dandy ronkeys who had buge hollocks and dig bicks

The gairy fodmother told Rindercella to be back by dimnlight otherwise,
there would be a cucking falamity.

At the ball, Rindercella was dancing with the prandsome hince when
suddenly the clock struck twelve. “Mist all chucking frighty!!!” said
Rindercella, and she ran out tripping barse over ollocks, so dropping
    her slass glipper.

The very next day the prandsome hince knocked on Rindercella’s door and the sugly isters let him in. Suddenly, Betty Swallocks lifted her leg
and let off a fig bart. “Who’s fust jarted??” asked the prandsome hince.
“Blame that fugly ucker over there!!” said Mary Hinge. When the
stinking brown cloud had lifted, he tried the slass glipper on both the
sugly isters without success and their feet stucking funk.

Betty Swallocks was ducking fisgusted and gave the prandsome hince a
knack in the kickers. This was not difficult as he had bucking fuge
halls and a hig bard on.

He tried the slass glipper on Rindercella and it fitted pucking
    ferfectly.

Rindercella and the prandsome hince were married. The pransome hince
lived his life in lucking fuxury, and Rindercella lived hers with a
    follen swanny.

Here you go Nancy just sing this.

Always Look on the Bright Side of Life

Some things in life are bad,
They can really make you mad,
Other things just make you swear and curse,
    When you’re chewing life’s gristle,
    Don’t grumble,
    Give a whistle
And this’ll help things turn out for the best.
    And…

Always look on the bright side of life.
    [whistle]
Always look on the light side of life.
    [whistle]

    If life seems jolly rotten,
    There’s something you’ve forgotten,
And that’s to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you’re feeling in the dumps,
    Don’t be silly chumps.
Just purse your lips and whistle.
    That’s the thing.
    And…

Always look on the bright side of life.
    [whistle]
Always look on the right side of life,
    [whistle]

    For life is quite absurd
    And death’s the final word.
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
    Forget about your sin.
    Give the audience a grin.
Enjoy it. It’s your last chance, anyhow.
    So,…

Always look on the bright side of death,
    [whistle]
Just before you draw your terminal breath.
    [whistle]

    Life’s a piece of shit,
    When you look at it.
    Life’s a laugh and death’s a joke it’s true.
    You’ll see it’s all a show.
Keep ’em laughing as you go.
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
    And…

Always look on the bright side of life.
Always look on the right side of life.
    [whistle]

Always look on the bright side of life!
    [whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
    [whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
    [whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
    [whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
    [whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
    [whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
    [whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!

Paul this kind of thing happens when the manufacturer has to put a new roll of backing paper onto the coating line when producing vinyl.

When one roll runs out another is used and so the end of the old roll is joined to the start of the new roll so the vinyl production can carry on un-hindered, hence your join.

Cheryl if you have not got the windows print driver disk then you will need to ring Grafityp so they can e-mail one over. (Technical Dept. ask for Paul Shrives)

When in Corel you select line thickness to the smallest setting ( I think its hairline / outline) then you need to manually reduce the line thickness to 0.001 mm. This way the cutter will see it as a single line and will cut it out, beware though anything set above 0.001 mm and the cutter will not respond to any job sent.

I’m at home now taking the rest of my holidays but I will look in each day so if you need any further help just post.

I would try another program first if you can just to eliminate the cutter from the equation.

Maybe your cutter may have a demo job that is retained in it’s own memory, if it has then you should be able to turn the cutter off then back on and select the demo job from the cutters via it’s own menu and let it cut the demo job out.

This way you will know for sure what is causing the problem, whether software set-up or the cutter itself.

Of course it leaves the glue behind Peter, it is a vinyl remover only 😀

To be honest Hugh & it’s probably why I’m a supplier and not a maker but I think it looks alright……….well apart from the silver which looks grey, now that would be my only concern.

And after the first hour of the party who is gonna notice apart from you 😕

Then June 2006 we get married.

    Jon,

The only reason we do not actively support it is because that’s the deal with the software writers, we do offer advice/support where and when we can.

It does go against the grain for us because it puts us in a awkward position.

Calendered vinyl is extruded and that’s why it pulls back after been stretched (call it memory).

Cast vinyl, the name says it all really………no, well cast vinyl is not extruded but laid down onto the backing sheet so therefore it is not stretched at the time of been made like extruded (calendered) and so is much more forgiving when stretched or heated into recesses.

Can I have a PM button now Rob 😀

Ivan you can use sprocketed vinyl on a friction fed cutter, but what you should do is order 610mm width and have it slit in half by your supplier.

I did view the sight and read the report from top to bottom, only to find by the bottom of the page Paul was back at John O’Groats 🙄

So remember to read from the bottom to the top to get the journey the right way round.

If you have the photo saved as a file then anyone with a laser engraver should be able reproduce it onto glass.

I know that SignPal & Roland run pretty much on the same hpgl and drivers for either machine would generally work.

Try any of the two, also if there generic hpgl drivers in the driver list then these may work.
