  • can anyone tell me why when i go to cut it comes out wrong?

I’m trying out a used Mutoh SC650 with Flexi 7.6. I can’t get a decent cut from it but I think I can work on that. The main problem is when I go to cut something, it comes out at totally the wrong size.

For example, when cutting a website address 400mm by 50mm, the actual sticker comes out at 160mm by 20mm. I’ve checked any scales I can find and I’ve used the output compensation tool but it is still the same.

If anybody can give me some pointers, it’d be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers
    Kenny 🙂

Are the settings correct in p/manager (% up or down)

Hope you can solve the problem.

In flexi i have a problem when cutting. I give approx 2" of vinyl protrding out the front of the cutter, when i send it often pulls the vinyl back, and spits it out the back, cutting into the cutting strip. Or finishes the panel then pulls back to finish the cuts on the cutting strip again.

There must be a setting somewhere to alter the start point of the cut.

Also do you know if there is a setting to alter the way the program reads the cutting data. e.g. Reading the data along thewidth of the cutter as opposed to front to back if that makes sense. 😮

I have seen this type of thing before and it was because the wrong plotter driver was selected, thus changing the output to be 50% bigger than actual job size was meant to be.

Did you press the ‘origin’ button on the cutter before you started to cut?

Hi guys. Hi-jacked this thread a bit. 😳

Jeffus, what should the setting be? Think its set at 40.000mm

Ive never had this problem in signwizard. Where you start is where you finish. Is there a way you can alter the way data is read/cut in flexi. Maybe a clear preference is in need?

It currently cuts from bottom of panel from front to back. Pulling the whole length of the job in and out of the cutter, which doesnt help with tracking long jobs.

Signwizard cuts along the width of the cutter until finish, then cuts final weed line around perimeter which is much better at tracking.

Sorry for stealing your thread kenny (:)

    No problem. :lol1:

Turns out mines a plotter setting problem rather than Flexi sign anyway. I also can’t get decent corner detection or curves to meet up. Dare say it’s an offset issue.

Anybody experience with a Mutoh SC650?

(hijacked my thread back :lol1: )
