quote Iain George:Morning all
Just a quick question. What sign is on the final exit of an escape route. Arrow up/Down or just Text?
Have tried to Google but all seems a bit vague.
From what I can work out is UP means carry on in the same direction or go up. DOWN just means go down from here. Yet on many buildings above the final exit is an illuminated sign with a down arrow.
Any help would be appreciated. The correct sign should point up above a door and final exit without flames They way it was explained to me about the arrow was if your driving along a road and a road sign points up what way do you go? It seems still to this day a lot of people still put the down arrow which is incorrect according to British standards.

Sorry no not really. I think the catch is there to allow the cutter to separate from the print carriage. Just wondering if the part it clicks into is broken. I would have to have a look at my printer to see of I could come up with something else.

Something to do with the solvent in the ink softening the vinyl.Might be wrong but that’s my guess.

when I now go to turn the machine on it is saying temperature to low. It still start in service mode!!
I’m a bit confused as to what it is anybody got any ideas
the printer was fine on Monday and hasn’t been used until today and it started doing this.
thanks

-
yeah if you look into lean manufacturing.
The 2 second idea is a way of improving the processes but you are also suppose to make things as simple ans safe as possible.
if they have a process they document it colour code it put instruction on the machines etc so the idea is that anyone can walk up to the machine as carryout the operation the same way as other people do it.
have a look at this video it kinda explains the idea https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z38Zo76KmO0&t=515s
Graeme
-
I’ve recently been looking at a few videos on the internet to do with lean manufacturing.
I came across this guy that uses lean in his business and gets the staff to make a 2 second improvement to the process they are doing everyday. which in turn gives a long-term approach to work that systematically seeks to achieve small, incremental changes in processes in order to improve efficiency and quality.
His moto is fix what bugs you. Which I thought was quite a good saying haha.
I like the idea but I think there is a happy medium as I know that these type of things can go to far. But on the other hand if your not engaged enough they don’t even get of the ground.
My 2p Worth :smiles:

How did you get on with avery 1105 I used it last weekend and found it a nightmare to laminate.
Anybody got any tips on using this laminate with a manual cold roll laminator. I found it was so thin it made it so easy to wrinkle etc even when it started off fine but by half way wrinkles starting to appear. I think it took about three attempts to get it right :shake:
I liked the way it went on and thought it was pretty easy to work with. (First time I’ve done a wrap of this size lol)
Thanks

MemberFebruary 8, 2015 at 8:01 pm in reply to: Help sourcing Roland Versacamm SP 300 parts in the UKHi,
I’ve just had the exact same problem and I knew it wasn’t the encoder as I changed mine last year
I don’t think it uses the encoder for measuring the vinyl as the encoder reader is on the print head which is stationary when media is loaded.
Anyway I think my problem was caused by the ribbon cable from the cut carriage to the main board. I just changed it and all seems good now.

Try swapping the ribbon cables from the black and cyan head to the magenta head and see if the problem changes places.
if it changes places it will be the fuses on the main board.

MemberApril 16, 2014 at 10:17 pm in reply to: Roland sp300 motherboard / mainboard repairI have used macmedia very good service although it was only something to do with the solder on the fuses that was my problem sent it to them using parcelforce worldwide they have a next day option which i used but it didn’t arrive next day so i made a claim and got a full refund (£50)
They seem pretty clued up and send it back by fedex i think it was about a week from the day i sent it to the day i had it back.
Worth a try cause a new main board is a lot of cash if they can’t fix it the may be able to offer you a second hand unit.

MemberSeptember 19, 2013 at 5:02 pm in reply to: Uniform cadet plus heads have stopped firing any adviceHi David,
I have limited knowledge but would say that it’s probably the fuses on the main board.
To check them turn all power off to the printer and run a meter across them (noise setting)if you run it across and no beep fuses are stuffed.

Maybe some of the more experienced guys can point you to something else but that’s what it looks like to me if the fuses were gone it wouldn’t print at all

MemberAugust 12, 2013 at 1:32 pm in reply to: Versacamm prints mixed up colours ADVICE Please?Ok so one head should be running magenta and yellow the other black and cyan if you have a blown fuse you lose both colour I.e yellow and magenta because there on the same head.

You will just have to see if you can pinpoint the problem start with the ink lines is the ink ok in them? if it is move down to the dampers see if it’s still ok, then keeping moving along the system till you pinpoint where the inks are mixing.
