Chevron kit unknown material ID Help please
Posted by Jean Oakley on June 13, 2019 at 1:18 pmHi all, a vehicle needs two new back doors and i have to make good. The chevron kit is made up of flourescent yellow (fine) and this very odd reflective red. The kit is also a bit odd as is cut in 4 horizontal blocks, most ive seen are three. Can anyone identify the reflective of point me in the direction of whoever made the kit thanks for reading

it’s a class 1 reflective – you can buy complete kits for the custom transit from Wm. Smith

How about victory design?

I think that might be the right material, its not the same kit but will see if OK with the customer, thank you

It looks like Avery V8000 and Victory do use it on there kits.

slightly off topic, but this is a real pain for me and has been around 15 years.
I think all vinyl films should be ghost marked on the face with the brand/series code on the face. 3M have done it with "some" films, and Oracal does it on "some" of their films. I understand there will be added costs for the vinyl manufacturers to do this but why make premium films and not brand them? -
Maddingly ordered from w m smith at an extra cost of £40.00 to ensure delivery on Tuesday. Arrived and within 20 minutes had a call from the garage saying the customer doesn’t want any replacement graphics or chevrons on the van ffs grrrr waste of time :bangshead:

I hope you’re still billing them.
We’ve fallen foul of trying to help out, and getting bitten which is why we don’t do anything until a deposit is paid, or a purchase order received.
If its urgent it’s up to them to sort it quicker.

Hi David, I thankfully have a good relationship with the garage in question. Theyve been getting the brunt of it from the end customer. Not my fault and the garage happy for me to bill the whole job minus an hours fitting. I just need to drop the graphics inc chevron kit off later today.
