Hi all, has anyone come across or has a supplier for double side clear vinyl. I want to create some window graphics and would like to be able to reverse print on white then laminate in the normal way but using a double sided clear laminate so I am then able to stick to the inside of a window. I’m sure there must be a solution to this problem i have ( my printer unfortunately doesn’t print white ink!) Thanks in advance if you can help..

It’s a clear laminate your looking for not a clear vinyl. I have one that is optically clear which is the sort of thing you are looking for but unfortunately I can’t remember where I got it but most of the print media suppliers will probably stock something.

Or I believe people reverse print to normal clear vinyl & then back with white which would be a cheaper option

thanks Martin, I didn’t want to have to back it with white as some of the things I do I send through the mail so it’s not really acceptable (as far as I’m concerned) to have the end user fit the white back. Take your point though if I was fitting it myself then that would be the way to go. cheers

The easiest way to do it is reverse print onto clear, and then use white vinyl as a laminate, so you are doing it the opposite way round to usual. We do it like this all
the time, and they come out fine. This is what Martin meant. If you reverse print onto
white, and back it up with double sided, the white part would still have it’s backing
    sheet on.

Not aware of any double sided clear laminate / vinyl except for the type known as optically clear double sided sticky tape (£££)

As already said, it’s the case of printing in reverse on clear & laminating that in white to make your print appear sticky on the printed side if you don’t have a printer capable of backing it off in white.

While on this subject…….saw a restaurant window last week where the vinyl was a metallic gold with a black print and applied to the inside. Any ideas on how that was done ?

I couldn’t get inside to have a closer look.

    Cheers

Was it not just the same as above but instead of backing with white it was backed with gold!
