Brian will sort you out with older ones if they’re not on the 2013 disc. I have the 2009 disc and I’m upgrading to the 2013 one, but I tend to hang on to the older ones for that very reason

[Just wondering how everyone is finding it at the minute. Am kept going but wouldn’t be rushed of my feet. Anyone any good ideas of how to generate more business or make ourselves more visible to clients?? What sort of way do people market themselves??]
Nicholas, stop worrying about how everyone else is doing and concentrate on your own business. Everyones location, local economics, client base etc is different. Try to find something that works for you, and remember, there’s no "quick fix" road to riches. Produce good quality, good looking signs, make a decent mark up on what you do and it will come.[/quote]

What a display of good racing. Hamilton is without doubt the bravest driver in the wet. Its appalling that such a display is rewarded with penalties. With regards to Schumacher, I really think that when you put an exceptional driver in the best funded car/team it always leads to domination. I really think that Hamilton is every bit as good as Schumie if not better.

As Rob and Cheryl said it CAN be done, but won’t look anything like an airbrush job, so you won’t be able to charge enough as well. I tried it once, for a mates helmet, took half a day and still looked crap!

We have our 54″ cadet for a few months now. I was the same when trying to decide which one, and eventually the cadet won out. If your putting prints on vehicles you still have to laminate them, unless its short term. The cadet prints are a little bit more durable. Added to that, the uniform agent in Ireland is only 12 miles from here,(printech technologies) which means back up and support are almost instant.

Thanks for all your replys guy’s.The other one that I have is Mr Clipart, and my supplier here in Ireland told me that the new ingram cd had ALL the models I wanted including the new caddy van. (it didn’t!!!) On principle there’s NO WAY I’m gonna blow another few hundred euro’s on a CD (not even Brians) unless I’m 100% sure it has what I want!

Brian, The specific models I want are
    1. The new caddy van
    2. The new fiesta 3dr
    3. Subaru impreza (MK 1, 2, 3)
    4. Mitsubishi Lancer evo (5-8)
    5.Honda Civic 3dr (92-96 Model year & (96<)

There’s no substitute for experience. Our policy with Chinese, Italian & Indian restaraunt owners is 50% of the job on receipt of an order, and the balance of payment when I fit the signs, and if the owner isn’t there to pay me when I fit them, I take ’em right back down again. I’m in the market for a cadet as well. I’ve done a lot of research, and prices do vary a lot.I was going to buy direct from B & P and go collect it myself, but Printech, based in Tipperary Town are the new agents here in Ireland for the cadet, and they’re only 12 miles from me, so for back up and buying the cartridges afterwards it would make more sense to buy from them. The cadet seems to be a good machine, but I’m also after a laminator……Just in case!!!!!

When I started from home 2 years ago I managed at home for a few months. Then I rented a unit which was a glorified coalshed for a year. Luckily I found a bigger cheaper unit in a local industrial park and moved again. This is perfect, with a 13′ high door so it’s no problem gettingany vehicle in. There’s 10 other units in the place with a massive yard. The weater doesn’t effect me at all. And best of all when I finish work at night (normally around 10pm) And go home I can relax because customers don’t call to my house 😀

Thanks. They’re straight from the printer. The customer changes his vans every year so they won’t be on any longer. If they were done on a versa cam I’ld definatly laminate them. The Cadet prints can stand up to a fair bit of abuse.

Thanks Guys. The rally car belongs to a good friend of mine who specifically wanted white lettering only, and what you can’t tell from the photo is that it’s all reflective. It’s only one of around forty that if done. I’ll try and find a decent pic of a job with more colour to post soon

I started part time in Jan 2003 & went full time in May 2003. It took about 3/4 months to build up a full time workload. As in any new business, It probably took 12 months to get to the stage of being sure of getting a full weeks wages Every Week.!
I was completly unprepared for Christmas, The work load dropped off a bit ,but payment more or less stopped from Nov till Feb, leaving me with probably the quietest Christmas ever. 🙁
