Hiya my fine friends… thinking of buying the impact vehicle outlines software… not sure if it’s a good idea though? Is there an alternative to this I don’t know about?

Spandex do one. (got mine from then at trade show)

Mr Clipart does them. (pretty poor by all accounts – but cheap)

Impact is apparently the most comprehensive & accurate according to many people here. And Brian issues frequent updates.

There are alternatives Gordon but if you try a search on the forums you will find that whenever vehicle outlines are talked about on the forum just about everyone says that they are the best, plus as a uksg member you get a discount I believe. when I started I got an ingram vehicle outline CD which contained a lot of american vehicles which were of no use to me, could have saved myself some money if I had just bought the Impact CD straight away.

So, impact sounds like the way to go… looks like it’s about £100, does anyone know if you need to pay for any additional updates or anything on that price?

I just thought… would the latest version of impact (2013) include outlines for older models? I have a job in the pipeline for a ford fiesta 2006 model, would I need to buy the 2006 disc for that?

    If so… stuff that.

I have v29 2009 and theres models well over 10 years old on that,so i would think that the 2013 disc would have 06 models on it.As chris has said ask brian hes very helpful and fair.john 🙂

Gordon, the 2013 disk will have all the old models on too. The book just gets bigger every year. It has a 1982-88 Fiesta van, so you will have no problem with vans as recent as 2006.

Brian will sort you out with older ones if they’re not on the 2013 disc. I have the 2009 disc and I’m upgrading to the 2013 one, but I tend to hang on to the older ones for that very reason

I bought Mr Cars’nTrucks 2003 which was very good however you had to import then blow up to the correct scale

When I bought Impact it was much better as you simply imported and everything was to true scale. Don’t know if they still do the handbook with images but that was really good too

Brian’s has always been very helpful to all of us

Is there an upgrade option with the Impact vehicle versions? We’ve got version 25 2008 so looking to upgrade to a later version.

There is a new disc every year David, contact Brian at Impact and he’ll sort you out the latest version
