@ Robert & Martin: thanks for the feedback and excellent advice.
@ Martin: Maxplus is the manufacturer of the 3D vinyl, so it’s not printed but real 3D-textured vinyl.I’ll be posting some pictures of our work in progress… We start next Wednesday.

Hi Ian & Kevin,
thanks for the help. Only problem is that the Porsche font has other kerning and is more ‘flattened’ than the Porsche Diesel logo.
It is for a collector’s item so i want it to be really the same logo…
Difficult one this or maybe i should try a vectorising service… can you recommend somebody?Cheers,

Is that a big mirror in the middle of the room that reflects your 2 plotters? Or do you really have 4 of those 😮 😮

Hi Ian,
very nice looking job! Is the vinyl directly mounted on a painted wall or do wall-wraps like these need other preparation?

MemberNovember 12, 2007 at 7:39 pm in reply to: Rolls Roller help – flood coating Dibond panelshey guys,
sorry for my late reaction but i had a whole weekend off! 😎
So, I’ll try to explain it in my best English (which isn’t that easy :lol1: )…
The problem is not that the vinyl wrinkles when being applied (it doesn’t wrinkle when the backing paper is removed!) but that it wrinkles when we try to "pre-roll" the vinyl.
We "pre-roll" the vinyl (with the backing paper still in place) assuming that it helps to apply the vinyl without going sideways (I hope my explanation is good enough 😕 ). We just do so because we’ve seen the experts do it in the Rolls Roller-demo…Rob, is there any possibility you pass this discussion to the experts from William Smith? Here in Belgium the RR-dealer hasn’t an answer for us 🙁
Cheers,
Bart -

MemberNovember 8, 2007 at 2:30 pm in reply to: Rolls Roller help – flood coating Dibond panelshey rob,
we tried it in the middle, near the edge with another panel on the other edge to have equal pressure, with a lot of pressure and with less pressure,…
-
Thanks again Chris… but again I have to disappoint you 😕
The "u" and the "A" are close but not perfect :lol1: -
Thanks Chris, but it’s not that one 🙁 Watch the ‘G’…
Anyone else ? :lol1: -
Thx for the comments, everyone.
Harry, the special shape represents an ink drop (printing) with an incision and a peeled corner (plotting) 🙄

it’s not working. Logo colors should be like in the letterhead :lol1:

hi again everybody,
first of all we’d like to thank everybody who has made the effort of helping us with a design or comment.
After a lot brainstorming, designing, and re-designing we finally found our new identity in the following logo!
Hope you all like it 🙂 Any comments appreciated 😀Cheers,
bart -
-
by the way: the "face id" is supposed to be said as "face it" 😕 😮
-
hi everybody,
thanks a lot you all for your efforts! This is a superb community!!!
We especially liked the idea of the barcode (Andy) as a symbol for identity.
So we used it in another try…Please feel free to tell us what you think of it (even if you don’t like it!). It’s better to hear critics now than when it’s too late.
Cheers,
bart -
Thanks andy
Looks good and cool! Don’t want to be difficult but maybe a bit too cool 😕
And we really want to add "all-round reclamemakers" because it says what we do :lol1:Cheers,
bart -
hi lynn,
this logo should be part of our total corporate identity. So we should put it on letters, invoices, businnes cards, van (peugeot boxer), etc.
Before even thinking about all that we want to make sure that the logo itself is strong enough to stand on its own…
Cheers,
bart -

hey neill,
knowing this, we would ask at least 1100 pounds for such a job… 645 is not only cheap, it is a bit spoiling the market 🙁
You can earn good money with wrapping if u want to. I can see a cardealer complaining if he asks the price of a Daihatsu when selling a Ferrari 😕Cheers,
bart -
hey Neill,
nice job there!
Was that 645 pounds just for the print & design? Or was the application included? Did u use a laminate?Cheers,

Avery Signflex is probably a better solution but we don’t have these in stock.By the way: how does it feel to be a Saoudi? Doe you also have a golden toilet and even better a diamant cutter 😎

Ciao,

Hey Craig,
glad to hear that all goes well (except of the breaking out of your wall 😕 )
We’ve ordered one that should be delivered by the end of august. 😀
We also decided to buy our first wide format printer: a Mutoh Rockhopper III with the new Eco-Ultra solvent inks and Caldera RIP-software. There goes all our money :lol1:
Last but not least: we’re moving our firm to a new building (440 sq. meters). Opening festivities planned for 01/09. It will be a hot summer! 😎 😮 😎Ciao,

Thanks for your comments Shane. We work a lot for a big building contractor who needs a lot of big full colour signs. In 10 minutes time you can apply a print to a 250×125 forex panel without having to move the panel. Now we need 20 minutes to half an hour for that…
The EZY-taper looks a really nice machine but isn’t really what we are looking for right now. Do you know if there is already a distributor in Belgium and the Netherlands for the EZY-taper?

551 is by far not the most popular Oracal-foil. Almost everybody prefers 751 or even better 751 cast for long term projects. For events and other stuff you can use 631 or 651.
