Hi Nik
we used Avery 1005 easy apply printed using our Jetster XL, I didn’t fit it
but it took two people about 6 hours to clean the van then fit the wrap & vinyl lettering on top. The wrap vinyl is strange stuff it doesn’t feel sticky when you remove it from the backing but sticks on fine to the paintwork! We charged £645.00 +VAT for the job, bit cheap?
it was for a friend of friendcheers

hey Neill,
nice job there!
Was that 645 pounds just for the print & design? Or was the application included? Did u use a laminate?Cheers,

Hi Bart
the cost did include design/print/fitting but not a laminate. We used a product called Supagard (a high quality paint protection polish) to go over it after fitting to hopefully offer some sort of protection. The cost is a little cheap but it was for a friend & our 1st wrapping job, we know if we do another one to add a bit more for fitting.
We used 10 metres of wrapping vinyl, the ink & 6 metres of 610mm wide Mactac 9800 series vinyl.
We dont intend to do much wrapping unless we really have to, (can make a lot more money doing our ‘normal’ jobs!).
cheers guys

hey neill,
knowing this, we would ask at least 1100 pounds for such a job… 645 is not only cheap, it is a bit spoiling the market 🙁
You can earn good money with wrapping if u want to. I can see a cardealer complaining if he asks the price of a Daihatsu when selling a Ferrari 😕Cheers,

thanks Bart
I understand what you’re saying & if we do a wrap job again we will be charging considerably more than for this job, like I say the guy was a friend so we did do it cheaper for him. If we do another for him or another customer we will be charging for everything at the going rate.
Our core business is the supplying the motor trade, fitting vinyl to showroom windows, prices up the side of cars, parts vans, demonstrators, etc…
We did this job for the experience & knowing now what is involved can learn for the next time.cheers for the comments

nice work mate…
is this printed onto clear with blue fading to nothing, then applied onto a white van, or is it a complete wrap blue fading to white? (hope that made sense? :-?)i agree with it being too cheap but like you said, you will know for the next time…
-
Hi Rob
we printed onto white vinyl & the blue faded down to white but we only wrapped it from behind the driver/passenger doors. So the doors/wings/bonnet were left unwrapped (if that makes sense).
