  • FESPA Exhibition – London, are you going?

Posted by Robert Lambie on June 14, 2013 at 1:30 pm

Europes largest sign and print exhibition "FESPA" is almost here, i wondered if anyone from the boards will be in attendance?

I will be there the full 5 days, so would be good to catch up for a drink etc with anyone going along?
It is also on the Saturday, which is a good idea.

also, is anyone entering the world wrapping championship running the duration of the exhibition? BIG prizes, i believe for finalists.
I know UKSG member Michael Szwacki is entering it, but wondered if anyone else was?

    Rob,

I will be there all 5 days too mate.

I’m on the Roland stand perhaps you could pop over and we can have a chat, I’ve tried emailing you several times with issues concerning my membership but don’t seem to get a reply.

Perhaps I can tempt you with a cold beer and you sort my issues out on the day….lol…

Would be good to see you!

thanks for the £55 heads up Rob, I’d’ve turned around and gone back home if confronted with that – crazy!

I’ll aim to go whichever day seems most popliar.

Michael – how does a wrap comp work?? I’m assuming you have a vehicle, set time and set standard of finish?

  • Michael Szwacki

    Member

Long story short yes pretty much like that but when you have brand new Merc Citan, 3m long print on some crap Orajet and 30 min to wrap one side of the vehicle including perfect cuts (one scratch on paint and you disqualified) it sound bit mad and that’s where completely different level of wrapping is stepping in 🙂
All of that is for competition only, you would never do job like that for a customer.
I went to the polish one just for fun and experience and believe me I was sweating like a #%# and I nearly started smoking again to get rid of stress 🙂

I have absolutely no chance at Fespa but just having my name on it it’s already success for me and with a bit of luck I might be not the last one 🙂

I think it is probably to get a better scope of who will actually attend.
if they don’t go, they at least accumulate a huge mailing list.
Also, because its done at home/office prior, more time will be taken to fullfill the fields properly giving a better quality database too.

not that that’s "our" concern of course. :lol1:

    Hi All

By the way anyone that has never experienced a FESPA show is in for a shock ….

Its huge !!! Probably at least 10 times the size of Sign and Digital spread over 2 large halls ….. I think the HP stand is about as big as the whole of Sign and Digital this year 😀

I visit every year (this is the first time it has come to the UK) and normally allow 2 or 3 full days to do the show justice.

We are exhibiting so pop along to say hello and have a chat

    Hope to see you there

    Got a ticket here, and I can’t attend…

Free day out at Alton Towers ‘team building’ or FESPA?? 😳 I am easily swayed.

If anyone would like the ‘free’ ticket for Fespa PM me, and I’ll forward the e-mail to you.

    Guys,

For anyone driving I have a little cunning plan to avoid parking charges that I would like to share with you…..

If you use the following postcode E16 2AN this will take you to the other side of the water and the excel arena, the great thing is that Parking on this side is FREE so no need to park miles away and get a tube in.

Once you have parked up you need to head toward the river which is a 5 min walk get the lift up to the bridge and walk across. This brings you up right in front of the excel building and right at the entrance for Fespa.

For anyone who does find this helpful do come over to the Roland stand and say Hello and have a chat I’m trying to meet as many people from the boards as I can…..You cant miss me I have a massive beard….FREE beer on the stand for all who say Hi!

Hope the above is of some help to you guys!

just got back.. saw some of the suspects.. robs little truck is tucked away at the back of the North hall

We parked at Slough and got the train to Paddington, then did the underground.. u need to review train prices before doing this way.

Parking was a fiver at Slough but dont know what it is at Excel, we used the route to take a break of driving and without going onto the dreaded M25.

Hi Guys – Great day out yesterday always good to meet Chris W, Kevin F, Little Martin big Rob etc but also some new faces Neil Davey, Hugh Potter, Gary Birch and anyone else ive omitted.

I was dissappointed not to meet with Harpreet after the hype and promise of beers, but his brother James was there and came through with the goods (after tea!).

Met some mates in town afterward and got the red eye home tucked up in bed at 2am 😮

well this is my last day of the show, been here in London two weeks now and im knackered! 5 days of exhibiting, drinking, late nights and the set-up before the show has been a killer, but all been worth it. i just need 5 minutes to actually walk round the halls and see things! 😕

Well I’ve been to FESPA for two days now and just got back. I’m exhausted!! All you guys who have been there for the duration deserve a medal!! It was a really good show and some really interesting kit about. It was really good to see such a big show in UK, I hope everyone has done well from it.

Just got on the train at Kings Cross homeward bound back to green fields after 5 long days in the big city……..I started day one in high heels with a clear head, a smile and my voice………I’m heading home in flats and I’ve defiantly left my voice behind, it’s somewhere in a Covent Garden bar/club which played loads of 90’s music, but I do still very much have my smile 😀 It’s been great to catch up with so many.

We had a hick-up when someone forgot to disconnect the battery on the stand car resulting in a very flat battery which took a bit of sorting but from the sounds of things there were quite a few car issues when folks tried to get going……I think Mr Lambie might still be hunting the keys down for the Audi 😕
