    Hi all.

I have just registered and reckon it would be not more than nice and polite to say hello to all the people on this nice forum here. I have been lurking for a couple of weeks now, and I’m amazed about the knowledge that is available from all of you, and I am suprised how much everyone one helps each other out true difficult situations. :appl:

I’ve been active in the graphic arts (initially pre-press) for more than 15 years, and after leaving my last job at NUR Macroprinters (which opened my eyes to the Large format printing world) I decided it was time to start for myself so I just recently started with a Canadian company the distribution for Europe off Bulk ink systems for Large Format Printers like Mimaki, Agfa, Mutoh, Roland and Seiko/OCE.

If I can be off any assistance to anyone please don’t hesitate to ask.

    Thanks.

Hi Shane, Yes I know Techinks, they are very good but sometimes a bit more expensive than others, but they produce a fine ink. They have been the supplier of all the inks for Scitex Vision or should I say HP now. I wonder, since they where a subdivision of Scitex what they will become off, since I heard they are bought as well by HP in the same merger with Scitex.

The only thing I’m not so fond off, is their bulk feeding system. But I think that’s just a personal thing.

Gravity feed system has less problems I am told. The problem we have here is with the heat.

I had a day of over 40 deg c and my airconditioner couldn’t keep the room cool enough and the ink expanded in the glass inspection bottles, and flowed out the overflow. Not a lot of ink, but when it falls from a metre high, it splatters everything 🙁

I think the HP merger will make no change in truth. They may start coming out as HP inks, but they OEM to so many brands, Toucan etc, I’m not sure that will even happen.

With HP’s huge resources, I imagine they’ll see more positives than negatives.

    Welcome again.

I’m sure that it will be a hughe boast for InkTech in means of resources, But I’m not sure HP will be happy with supplying inks to Mimaki, Roland, and others. I’ve been talking to an European distrubutor of InkTech, and he’s worried though that now HP runs the place InkTech will no longer be able to sell true distributors but will only go the HP route, which means it will narrow down again the freedom for customers to choose whatever ink you want to use at a certain price. And from experience I know HP is a tough nut to crack.

As for the overflow in your ink system, I know this happens in closed systems since you cannot interact with the system. This is why I like (Cramiekske edit – name of system and vendor removed) this system better. It’s a gravity fed system as well, but it let’s the operater manually interact depending on the altitude and humidity in his production environment. Also it feeds from 1 Liter bottles or can connect it with a pump system so if you have a 25 liter ink container, the system can run indepoendantly.

If you want more information please PM me.

    Best regards
    Marc

    He dennis,

As far as I know, but I could be wrong is the Gerber Jetster 160 identical to the Mimaki Jv3 160. (Actually it’s a Mimaki machine sold under the Gerber Brand, somewhat identical as B&P is doing with their Cadet, Grenadier; etc.
These are Roland machines, repainted and rebadged. That’s all.

Before you get mod edited again, and I know it’s really easy to fall foul of them when a new member – it might be worthwhile reading the board rules for suppliers, even though you are helping a member.

ps. it’s a bit rude to most of us to go Dutch (& cryptic) to get round the ‘other’ thing that leads to the dreaded ‘(mod edit)’ . Naughty, naughty!!

    Hi David,

Thanks for letting me know. I’m only trying to help some members on the board. But it seems that your moderators are really paranoid versus suppliers, even when they only have the best intentions.

I’m not trying to promote any of my products, although I think a lot off you would benefit from them.

So in order to help you all, I’m sorry if I have to use Dutch in order to pass the message. It’s not meant to be abusive nor to show any disrespect against anyone. I’ll change my own mail.

And Lynn, thanks for the welcome.

    Regards

if a member asks a question then there is no problem in replying as long as you do not elaborate into a sales pitch, other products non-relevant or contact details, such as emails or websites. your post should not only help the person in question, but all those reading it after too…

yes, you could be right. but of course every supplier has the same opinion.

this is a sign makers website. it has built its good reputation because it is sign makers giving other sign makers their views and opinions. yes, we welcome suppliers. but as a visitor, a visitor to join in as much as they wish, answer questions when asked or just join in with the fun.
however, typing replies in different languages to avoid board rules, posting links and calling our moderators paranoid is just rude.

    Hi Robert,

I don’t need a sales pitch in order to promote my products, I started my company in October 2005 and I have allready installed 15 bulk ink system within the UK and Ireland. So obviously my products are good, and this is a proven fact.

I’m not sure how many off my UK/Ireland customers are present on this forum, although one of them gave me this address of the forum. My only intention is to provide help to other screen printers (digital or traditional).

If this is not with your approval, then please remove me from this forum.

And the question of being rude in regards to your moderators, I’ve read other messages on the forum, (while lurking) where nobody made the smalles comment on the content, and these more sales oriented than the small hints I gave on request of members of this forum.

    Regards
    Marc

Hi Marc. Welcome to the boards.
I think you need to understand that this forum works whilst others fail because everyone abides by the rules and uses the forum to exchange ideas, constructive criticism, advice and knowledge. I would hope that you can join in in the same spirit. This is my personal opinion and I am able to voice this because the moderators and the people they moderate for, us, encourage free speech. I am fluent in French but do not feel the need to exchange views or promote points of view in a foreign language just to evade the rules. It is disrespectful to the members of UKSB, the people who work hard behind the scenes to make it work and just as importantly, to the many suppliers who do support the board and its members and generally have no problem keeping to the parameters set. I hope you stay within the UKSB and share with us you knowledge. Hopefully, you may also learn new things as I have done. It is a great place to visit and be a part of.

Just my own opinion of course.

    Peter

i am not doubting your products in anyway. however, if your products are as good as you say, i am sure we will all hear about them soon enough.
