Just spoke to a guy who used to make plates and his Girlfriend is a copper. He advised me even though i advertise them as show plates, tell the customer there show plates , and put a sticker on the back, to still get the customer to sign a disclaimer.
This is because ( so i have been told and need to look up for myself) that the police/dvla inspectors can

1 seize all your plate making equipment
    2 fine u £2K

and the chap you sold the plates to could take the sticker off and deny that you told them that the plates were for show/off road use only.

    can anyone confirm this please

I dont Becky, but cover yourself with either on the invoice or a sticker on the back stating for show/off road use only.

A new young monk arrives at the monastery and as with all new monks he is assigned to help the other monks in copying the old canons and laws of the church by hand.

He notices, however, that all of the monks are copying from copies, not from the original manuscript.

So, the new monk goes to the head abbot to question this, pointing out that if someone made even a small error in the first copy, it would never be picked up.

In fact, that error would be continued in all of the subsequent copies.

The head monk, says, “We have been copying from the copies for centuries, but you make a good point, my son.”

So, he goes down into the dark caves underneath the monastery where the original manuscript is held as archives in a locked vault that hasn’t been opened for hundreds of years.

Hours go by and nobody sees the old abbot.

So, the young monk gets worried and goes downstairs to look for him.

He sees him banging his head against the wall, and wailing, “We forgot the “R”, we forgot the “R” His forehead is all bloody and bruised and he is crying uncontrollably.

The young monk asks the old abbot, “What’s wrong, father?”

With a choking voice, the old abbot replies, “The word is celebrate.” “The word is celebrate.”

A cabbie picks up a nun. She gets into the cab, and the cab driver won’t stop staring at her.
She asks him why is he staring and he replies,:
“I have a question to ask you but I don’t want to offend you.”
    She answers,:
“My dear son, you cannot offend me. When you’re as old as I am and have been a nun as long as I have, you get a chance to see and hear just about everything. I’m sure that there’s nothing you could say or ask that I would find offensive.”

“Well, I’ve always had a fantasy to have a nun kiss me.”

She responds, “Well, let’s see what we can do about that:
#1, you have to be single and
    #2 you must be Catholic.”

The cab driver is very excited and says, “Yes, I am single and I’m Catholic too!

“OK” the nun says “Pull into the next alley” He does and the nun fulfills his fantasy with a kiss that would make a hooker blush. But when they get back on the road, the cab driver starts crying.

My dear child, said the nun, why are you crying?”

“Forgive me sister, but I have sinned. I lied, I must confess, I’m married and I’m Jewish. ”

The nun says,: “That’s OK, my name is Kevin and I’m on my way to a Halloween party.”

Hi guys heres a pic of the image the customer wants to use,

I have a feeling i won’t be able to get a better quality pic of this, so it’s going to have to be vectored first. ( and it’s the customers choic eof pic not mine, my hands are tied)

all thoughts on the best way to apply thios to the lightbox are welcome.

Rod excuse me for beinga tad thick but could you expand on this please

    quote :

A digital print on the correct backlit will work 100%

In my ignorance i would have thought all lightboxes have the same type of lights in them ect. but then again having not worked with many light boxes i’m totaly in teh dark on this

    Thanks Rob.

on a parallell note i have seen a few vans in my area where the fitter has left the valley un-vinyled altogether, ie; the logo/text is cut in at the high spot just b4 the valley ( make anysense? ) is this done once fitted and very carefully with a knife or is it done on the pc b4 cutting? if the latter i would think thats a bit touch and go as no software is 100% to scale.

If it doesn’t make sense i’ll grab a piccy next time i see one and post it up.

    Thanks again

Rob would this be the same type to use on a VW Transporter in the deep resesses? as i did one the other week, using 751 and it was cleaned very well and blasted with a lot of heat, but i have since found out that it is slightly pulling away now in places 🙁

wasn’t a large logo but it was large text specialy where the two panels meet in the middle.

    Thanks

What have i started ? bunch of perves the lot of ya 🙂

    and another quicky
A man boarded an aircraft at London’s Heathrow Airport, and taking his seat
as he settled in, he noticed a very beautiful woman boarding the
    plane.

He realised she was heading straight toward his seat and bingo!

She took the seat right beside him. Eager to strike up a conversation, he
blurted out, “Business trip or vacation?”

She turned, smiled enchantingly and said, “Business. I’m going to the annual nymphomaniac convention in the United States.”

He swallowed hard. Here was the most gorgeous woman he had ever seen sitting next to him, and she was going to a meeting for nymphomaniacs!

Struggling to maintain his composure, he calmly asked, “What’s your
    business role at this convention?”

“Lecturer,” she responded. “I use my experience to debunk some of the popular myths about sexuality.”

“Really”, he smiled, “what myths are those?”

“Well,” she explained, “one popular myth is that African-American men
are the most well endowed when, in fact, it’s the Native American Indian
who are most likely to possess that trait.

Another popular myth is that Frenchmen are the best lovers, when actually it is the men of Greek descent.

We have also found that the best potential lovers in all categories are the
    Irish.”

Suddenly the woman became uncomfortable and blushed. “I’m sorry,” she said.
“I really shouldn’t be discussing this with you, I don’t even know your name!”

“Tonto,” the man said. “Tonto Papadopoulos, but my friends call me Paddy.”

Not a nun joke but still funny.

A blonde was playing golf and she sliced her drive off the tee and the ball went hurtling into a group of men on the adjacent green, followed by a cry of agony. She rushed over and saw one of the men, obviously in agony, with his hands between his legs. She says not to worry as she is a nurse and knows what to do. She lays the man down and undoes the front of his trousers, she puts her hand down and begins to massage him. After a couple of minutes she asks him how that feels, to which he answers ” Great but my thumb still hurts like hell “

If the room is darkish Rob i can see the light without the gogles, if it’s bright (which it normaly is i have to wwear them, and even then it’s tough seeing the beem sometimes, they are just liek saftey gogles but red, look naff realy but hey it’s not a fasion show is it 😳

It maybe as i have a lower end £35 laser that it’s hard to see maybee the more profesional ones are easier, not sure realy i’ll have to find someone with an expensive one and find out.

I use one but mainly when i want to angle something, just set the angle on the lazer and slide the graphic down till it sits on the light, i do find in the workshop the lazer light hard to see even with the gogles on , so i don’t use it that much. but it has come in handy.

    Hi Dave

at the mo i have just been asked to do the logo’s for the van the team uses, and there is a possibility of doing the bikes at a later stage so when that time comes then i was going to ask on here what the best vinyl is to use.

The guy i’m doing it for is in the Youth trials for GasGas themselves i believe.
    His name is Sam Haslam.

So there may be some exiting times ahead 🙂

It’s not just the bricks nick it’s all the stone work in the walls and benches too 🙂

I think as it has very thin lines it may need laminating if he has it on his van, or of course digi printing onto clear.

I started one yesterday , multi layered pictures on a van, finished it today, the base layer (black) i applied wet ( yes i chickened out 😥 ) and all the other layers i applied dry with no problems, or so i thought.

Customer brought it back today to be finished, and on one side he pointed out a load of small bubbles, ( i’m thinking application fluid) and on the other side it was fine in the morning but at 2pm bubbles had appeared. But last night when i dropped it back to him there wasn’t a bubble in sight, so i’m thinking either it is fluid that i havn’t got out and it’s congrigated into a few areas or outgassing which i believe does occur (can someone put me straight on outgassing please 😕 )

I’m hoping that in a coupel of weeks it will settle back down, but i am a bit perplexed as when i did drop it off there wasn’t a bubble in sight. If it doesn’t i’ll have to refit it.

Any way back to topic lay up on sight with reg marks ( you do use more vinyl if there is only a small area in one colour ) It’s easier ( if u dont get those damn bubbles.
