As Colin said a course is really good it’s surprising what you don’t know but I’d go on a PASMA course (I hate the sight of blood [emoji2]) I can recommend Kentec Training for those in the south east

MemberFebruary 12, 2018 at 2:57 pm in reply to: follow up to my previous post regarding laminator issuesHi Martyn
Whilst I have no experience of your brand I bought a laminator second hand off this site moved it 100 miles and set it up at which point it was moved around from time to time without issue, then sold it on to a pal so another 75 mile move and it has been fine since again whilst being moved around in situ – hence I find it hard to believe your laminator has to be set up professionally mm perfect and then not moved without problems

Some light boxes are front loaders ie where you cant slide in either side the panels goes up and in at about 30 degrees then push back and hangs from the top on a hanging strip.

Good luck with the new venture I hope it goes well for you, I started out in similar fashion to yourself so I understand where you’re at and the worries and pitfalls ahead but that’s all part of the fun and adventure, If you haven’t found a cutter yet I have one sitting gathering dust which I may be persuaded to part with, it is a sign pal ultra 610 sold by Graphityp in the uk so whilst not one of the biggest names it is still very reputable and reliable workhorse.
Anyhow whether that is of interest or not you are always welcome to pop in for tea, we are not far away in sunny Hythe.
Very best of luck – John 😀

Good luck Bill – let us know how you get on 😀

I would explain why it isn’t a good idea and if they don’t accept your professional advice then walk away and let some other mug cop for it.
I would walk away and sleep easy

I would measure from the the line level with the bottom of the door – measuring from the ground cannot work because as soon as you add or subtract weight the van would sit differently relative to the ground so if doing a fleet they could all be marginally different. Just my twopenneth.

For my part I thought it was good, a better vibe recession over, not too much big machinery, a nice balance of stands, missed impact graphics presence although could have done with some better wrap demos etc.
I used to drive but now get the train its so easy and was in London covent garden by 6 to meet some friends for a beer or 5 before the last leg home.
Going for three days was good on a social and an event basis so I look forward to next year and doing it all again.

Peter Wynne – Broad street would have been a cheaper option by the time you get your taxi back at stupid O’clock in the morning 😀
Ewan Chrystal Im in the Hampton by Hilton on Broad Street so looking forward to a few pre drinks with you before the messy stuff :lol1:
Lorraine/Rob
quote :Yes, we were all hiding behind the bar, John Harding shouted… “quick Lorraine and Jeff are coming”. 😕 😉 :lol1:The only reason I said that was that Rob had told me you were a Publican/Alcoholic and we were down to our last crate of beer so had to conserve supplies :lol1: I will make sure Rob gets more ale in this year instead of spending it on Taxis (eh Rob 😉 )
George/Martin – George If you owe Martin a beer and Martin owes me a beer (or two) George you buy me a beer and we will cut out the middle man 😛
I will have a chat with Nigel Pugh make sure theres beers so theres a meeting point option too!!!
Jill shame you and Shane cant be there (you were/are very entertaining :lol1: )
Anyone not sure how to meet up (im -not sure we can put contact numbers here) just google V Signs/Hythe/Kent and youll have my mobile

MemberJanuary 23, 2015 at 4:20 pm in reply to: T-shirt heat press – are cheap ones bad? Advice please?Well we are a small outfit and we have just invested in a shiny new heat press, my view is that after the initial outlay it can only add to the bottom line. We’ve only done a few so far but that’s money we wouldn’t have made and as an add on it can only be good.
ie a builder comes in for a vehicle livery so sell them builders boards and t shirts as extras – youve already got the logo after all
Add £5 to every van and you can give them all a FREE T shirt and lets face it they’ll need more so theres only one place they are likely to go.
However I agree if all you do is T shirts you would need to do a lot to pay all the bills
One thing for certain regarding heat presses I think buy right or dont buy at all, cheap ones will bite you 😀

MemberOctober 28, 2014 at 3:07 pm in reply to: Help sourcing A Boards Trade Supplier, please?Hi Steve
If i may be so bold we come to the heart of the problem, and it is not where the parts originate from it is and I quote 😀
quote :I suppose it’s because I deal with a lot of struggling local one man (and woman) businesses and I’m forever trying to get their price as low as possible to help them out, because a very long time ago I was in a similar position. So i respectfully suggest you work out a fair price based on your overheads and if they cant/dont want to pay (dont want to properly invest in their own business) its their loss because you can find someone who does 😀
Kind regards – John
