I have lettered a lot of these for a local vehicle bodyshop.
The material is marked as 3M controllac but is unlaminated and comes covered in paper application tape!
We have supplied and fitted plenty wraps but this is horrific to fit and unuseable as a wrap!
Has anyone ever fitted this material it is supplied by a company called Aura Graphics.
Honestly this is the most awful material I have ever used.

If you have had any experience with this material please comment?

I think a lot of those fleet jobs use liquid laminate to save money. I cant believe they could get away with no UV protection on them.

I don’t think it is liquid laminated but I could be wrong and if it is it is very very thin!
It is so thin and shatters so easily and obviously if it is covered in application tape it does not flex over curves.

hate to say it, but if the media is shattering, your workshop is too cold.
if your workshop is too cold, this may also have an adverse effect on the finish you get using the control-tac adhesive system.
Aura Graphics are a large reputable fleet livery firm, so i am guessing your approach to fitting these maybe different to how they would advise the installs. so i would advise to call them and ask to speak to someone on installations to ask how they go about this?
obviously if liquid laminate is used its most likely to be a cost saving exercise which again wont help with your install issues.
ill be honest, i dont think a wrap should be taped up either. but as there is no laminate it will be to give the media more rigidity and easier handling.
regardless, BEFORE you get to any area that needs the media stretched, you MUST first remove the application tape and then proceed.
