George if you have any etch in stock try it in your printer – some ordinary etch vinyls (though not all) take print well
John 😀

Cheers Dave I tried but wasnt impressed it looked more like a water mark

we tried the printable etch its not very good, we just printed the image on to clear, then laminated with etch, it works a treat 🙂

works great for us here on UV
Direct to etch

Depends on what side the image is viewed from.
Only print on the side that’s going to be seen.
Reverse ( inside glass) print on clear then laminate in etch.
I’m a fan of Ritrama PTA from Wm Smith. Applies well with a good density.

A timely post George, I’m just looking at this for a customers windows at the moment, how did you come on?
I’ll be using a lightbar converted printer, so far I’ve done a few samples on clear to be backed up with white and also some on glass etch but I’ll try backing one of the clear prints with the etch.
The glass etch ones are ok on the printed side but no good on the glue side.Steve

Steve, I convinced them to have white backed in the end as I tried all the etched ideas on here but was not happy with the colours they were washed out
