Sourcing one way mirror film for office window, help please?
Posted by Richard Urquhart on August 25, 2015 at 7:31 pmHi all I’m after a film as in mirror film for an interior office window, you can see out but not in, in the past I have used mirror tint film in the highest block but it’s not worked when used inside before, so looking at a way to do this so it works 100% and I have had the same problem using the contra vision inside, any thoughts please people thanks Rich

Hi Richard,
It all depends on the lighting.
No matter what film you use it will not work when you have less than 1 in 7 variation in lighting either side of the glass. Try installing lighting directly over glass on the side you want to be mirrored, this can work if positioned correctly.
Hope this helps.

HI Rich, hear this all the time from my clients, I mention Police TV shows like the Bill in the interview rooms. They sit in near darkness one side and brighter the other to achieve the effect.
My ratio is about 70/30 light split.
If you can direct a spotlight onto the film this helps solve the problem

I think Hexis do a film which is reflective similar to what your after but agree with the above comments

Your customer sounds like most these days… "oh it MUST do this and that, but cant be expensive!"
bit like… "oh i must have those Versaci Jeans, but can only afford the price of Wrangler" 🙄 then Wrangler it is, wise up skint boy! 😛 :lol1: -
