Recommendations for hire of unveiling curtains
Posted by NeilRoss on August 20, 2014 at 7:52 pmHi Guys,
Looking for a hire supplier for unveiling curtains. Wall mounted or on stands. I’ve found a few on the net, but would welcome hearing from personal experience.
We used to get a loan of them from a local club but it’s closed up nobody knows where they’ve gone.
Many thanks,
Neil

Could you not make some yourself rather than Hire them? Wouldn’t have thought they would be that expensive to manufacture, then you could advertise them for hire once you have used them :lol1: :lol1:

Could do that Martin, in fact we’ve already discussed it and it may well happen this time. In the meantime I’d like to investigate the hire situation before shelving it.

If you have a local props maker in your area or local theatre, you are looking for a small tab track, centre opening, or google tab track they are simple to make up.

Thanks Graham. We’ve decided to have a couple of sets made ourselves, but I’m going to go and look that up right now. I thought theses theing may have been readily available for relatively cheap hire nowadays but seems not. It’ll be good to have our own to use when needed.
Many thanks for the info though – much appreciated.

We bought an adjustable rail from b&Q which did 3-5′ wide and had 2 sets of velvet curtains made with about a 3′ drop, one set in gold one set in red.
Cost us about £180 at the time. But we used to hire them out at £50 a go, over 10 years we got our money back and then some!!!
