  • Can anyone recommend a silver mirror vinyl?

Posted by Martin Manley on May 31, 2015 at 10:16 am

    Hello everyone,
I’m looking for a silver mirror vinyl for glass, that shows a true mirror when viewed from outside. All I’ve been able to find is vinyl that purports to be this but actually gives only a "hammered" effect from the front – not what my customer wants…

You will not get a true mirror finsih regardless to who you use or how much you pay.
You can buy the lower grade Polyester Films and the high end Wrapping Cast Chrome Films. but neither are "True Mirror".

I think your best bet would be to call companies like Wm. Smiths who supply Window Films. You can get Mirror finish window films from them. I could be wrong but again i doubt you are going to get "True Mirror finish". I guess it boils down to how anal your customer wants to be on this.

I’ve had very good results using the most reflective mirror privacy films. All depends on the lighting though and your preparation. One or two specks of dust can ruin a whole window.

Did these for a customer. View from the LIGHT side (mirror) and from DARK side (see through)…will flip during the day when it’s brighter outside as per the intended use. Some people still take the (every police movie) one-way glass too literally and demand that you put it on the other side like it’s some magical film.

It will never be as good as a real mirror, but comes pretty close for a tint film. Putting a solid black or white on the back of it might enhance it as just a mirror but I’ve never tried it.

Got mine from the window film company.
