if the entire human population disappeared tomorrow… this planet wouldn’t miss us for one second Karl, if we didn’t know about it…. would it be such a bad thing for the world? probably not!
Well together we have done a great job of ruining it Hugh.
Hope your friends are all ok out there Alex. All the best mate.

quote Sean.Cully:To be honest I do not have any time to start fabricating benches.
I learned a long time ago to stick to what I do and that’s sign making not steel fabrication.
Also I am now signed and payed up to so many sites I am not spending no more money this year.Just want to know where I could buy a couple of benches!!
SC
You didn’t say they were steel.
-
Sorry mate. Forgot you have to be a member. Why don’t you sign up. You do get a lot for your money.
-
-
I’m sure there’s a tutorial on here somewhere on how to make them mate. Would be far cheaper.

That doesn’t work mate. I have the correct I.P address as the printer prints this off with loads of other info when it’s warmed up. The xerox site have taken the vista driver off the list for this machine. Bugger!
-
Giving it a go now mate. Thanks for that.
-
Still a no go on this if anyone knows! 😉
-
The Apple site is down at the moment for that Peter so a no go for now.

-
Well….time to kick it in the head for tonight!…….Blooody printers! 👿

The driver is installed at mo on w7. There is no driver for 7 but was hoping this would work from the xp driver. If I install it on xp it knocks the summa out.
When it does work on xp it pumps a test sheet out then loses the printer.
I aint got a clue what the issue is mate. -
Good to see my face? You been to specsavers mate? 😀
-
Very nice. 😉
-
quote Harry Cleary:yay!!!!!! Karl got his face back! 😀

It does have a maintenance contract. Problem is the only engineer that can sort it is on holiday. It has a rip installed on the back.

If you mean a hard copy of what they want then I wouldn’t do the job without it.
As to re-jig the design to look right yes charge for this but don’t go over board. -
Oh dear….didn’t think of that one! 😕
-
Why? What was up with it?
-
Coral gets the thumbs up from me. Used it since version 7 and never really had any issues. Does most of the things I need it to do. 😉

A very sad day for all. And yes Lynn the place where John was laid to rest was beautiful and perfect for a man with so much respect. It was nice to see Martin, Andy, Nicola yourself and Peter there. I wasn’t surprised at the large turnout and the sound of the motorbikes was a brilliant tribute to a well respected man. Rest in peace John. 😉

quote Phill:I’ve just been reading Johns introductory thread which was posted in 2002
https://www.uksignboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=1707&highlight=What an unassuming person.
quote :As I say, I am happy to help but I think I am more likely to learn more from you guys with your wider experience.Nothing could be further from the truth – he advised me and other folks so much behind the scenes and had an amazing ability to see through all the bullshit but still remained kind with his replies. Someone to look up to and respect. He was a mentor to me and many others.
Just read his first input into the site mate. As John explained he was not the most experienced when he joined as most of us. Hes taken advice from his good mates on here and ended up with a fantastic business. The man was a success. But he didnt only take advice, he gave it very well and was a great teacher to me. I learnt a great deal from him and if I could achieve his success I would be very proud. The pics on here and his introduction has put a lump in my throat. With the family community we have on here and the friendship we all share I feel like I’ve lost a family member. Gonna really mis you buddy.
-
Very sad news. A good mate and a good man who would do anything he could to help out. The boards wont be the same without him and his sense of humour. We wont forget you mate.

MemberMarch 17, 2010 at 12:32 am in reply to: go to the customer or get them to leave the vehicle??I understand what your saying lads, I use to do the same. But when you do this for clients they always expect the same level of service and also expect you you to be at their beck and call. I found I made a rod for my own back. Just my opinion from experience.

Yes John I agree with you about to many jobsworths, But as Pete said, just giving your details shouldn’t be a problem. The thing is we all say police should be fighting real crime and yes they can be annoying, But look at the risks we all take today in just walking down the road with the threat of terrorism. Many planned attacks have been avoided, and this may have happened just by one of these jobsworths taking someones details.

Peter, when mine was installed the engineer advised to make sure there was no ink at all on the heads in the morning and carry out what I said above.

Hi Andy,
I have the Mimaki. You are advised to clean the heads, capping station and wiper blade everyday. But it’s just a 5 minute job. They are good reliable machines in my view. When I eventually decide to buy another machine though I will look around to see whats out there but to be honest for me it would take a fair bit of arm twisting to make me go for another brand. Hope this helps. -
Ooohh! That must have hurt like hell mate. I did the same toe a few years ago when using the lawnmower. The blades clipped a metal pole hidden in the grass. At first I thought it just whacked my toe. So I bent down and picked it up only to realise it had gone through my shoe, into the toe and half way down my foot. The wife came out and found me lying in the grass flaked out, thought I was having a kip and rollocked me for being idle. 😕
