Does anyone have a layout map of Sign & Digital UK 2009?

I am after a supplier and know where the stand was but can’t find my copy of the stand layouts in the hall.

    Ta!

You need about a half hour for the show. I probably could get by with 15 minutes because I am not interested in machines.
4 hours in the show pub.
    3 in the hotel pub.
At least one overnight, and about 3 days to get rid of the hangover.

Yay!!!!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: Sounds about right, except that I don’t get hangovers. 😀

For me the show is more about the opportunity to meet, mingle, and exchange ideas and experiences with my colleagues than to look at boring sign stuff.

I actually enjoy the full show. yes it can be a bit boring walking round and round, but i do think it takes a good few circuits to actually stop and check out whats on offer. i normally arrive day one in the afternoon and leave day three when the doors are closing… or should i say, when the very hospitable staff on the Grafityp stand tell me thats the last of the free alchohol Mr L !! :lol1: :lol1:
seriously though… i don’t know how many times i have found some great products late on day 3 that i never saw over the previous days. maybe its just because there is less bodies buzzing about… but still…
i personally wouldn’t miss it… call me an anorak but i don’t think its all about making a purchase. your educating yourself to where our trade is heading and you owe your business that knowledge to keep ahead of your local competition.
i think the only thing that would stop me is an extreme workload, but i am lucky enough these days to have folk that can fill for me while im away.

as for meeting freinds, eating out and drinking… well that is just the cherry on the cake. i always have a great time and really enjoy everyones company.

    Hi
i am thinking of buying a heat press in the next couple of months, was thinking of this one-

    http://www.targettransfers.com/dynamic/ … MAXX4050BL

Do they have this kind of thing at the sign show? I went once a long time ago when i was too young to be interested.

Do they have heat press stands there? Do you think i should wait and go to the show to see some alternatives?

    Thanks

Liam, if you have a look at the sign & digital site you can see what suppliers are going to be there and then check their own websites for what they sell. That way you could go armed with a list of what suppliers you need to look out for so as not to miss one.

as has been said, lots of press options and the like…
i dont do sublimation etc but i did buy the full kit for personal use.
i went for the T1 siser from grafityp. great machine and also bought the cap and pocket add-n presses that comes as bolt-on for the machine.
i might be wrong, but Grafityp seem to have the largest range of heat presses i know of. ide give their website a quick look before making a decision.
there are lots of cheap unbranded makes out there but i think its a good bet to stick with a good brand when your business is relying on it.

    http://www.grafityp.co.uk/HeatPress/heat-press-main.htm

alternatively… derek seems to have something similar, if not same on sale just now. https://www.uksignboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=45845

    Hi there
thanks everyone for the advice. I just took a look at the website for the show and found that the suppliers of this machine (traget) are going to have a stand. So thanks for that tip Martin.

Rob, i’ve been emailing Derek Heron about his press and was on the verge of buying it, but my girlfriend is saying ‘buy a brand new one!’

I’m 100% confused, don’t want to take this thread off track, sorry!

Thanks again for all your advice, think i’m going to try to make it to the show.

    144 High Street, West Bromwich,
    West Midlands B70 6JJ

    £29 not bad at all.

Rob usually does a group reservation for uksg members, at one of the hotels on site, not always cheap, around the hundred+ mark per room. But cheaper than going direct for an advanced booking.
he will get round to posting the details, but if you do a search in the uksg forum you will see previous years that have always been a huge success,
as a social gathering as well as seeing the exhibition

We are booked in to an hotel up the M6 a bit from the NEC, but got a 2-night all-inclusive deal – booze & food plus a swimming pool for £99 each – it’s worth the 30 miles or so trip.

In fact we booked this a while ago, they are now running the offer again.
