    Hi Everybody

I Have a client who has requested vinyl fitting of the attached images, i have already quoted for fitting only assuming that i would receive the vehicle template.

the files they sent were an eps of the logo and the attached images,

as you can see the logo has been stripped out on the front and back, also i didn’t receive any scale or sizes as the the fitted size

would you ad an extra charge for re-jigging the artwork (if so how long?)
or just do it as a matter of course?

the van is being delivered tomorrow aft so i need to contact them before hand (or not)

any help would be much appreciated

    cheers

    Robert

    Hi Robert,
sorry, I am not quite understanding what you mean by "stripped out"?
If you have the eps, and the vehicle, its part of the process to measure, arrange, cut and apply.
Well that’s what I would have allowed for in my quote,

    Hi Peter

    by stripped out i mean,

the logo on the side is all i received, on the back the logo has been "stripped"
to go across the 2 doors and on the front different elements are removed and re-scaled,

this is all fine normally but i always specify that i require artwork on a vehicle template with the scale attached or the fitted size of the graphics,

i didn’t receive any of these and was wondering if i should be charging extra?
or is it common to receive a photo as artwork? and to have to workout the actual size the graphics are suppose to be purely from a photo?

In the past i have always received a template or full measurement’s

If you mean a hard copy of what they want then I wouldn’t do the job without it.
As to re-jig the design to look right yes charge for this but don’t go over board.

    Scale it on the photo,
A Standard number plate is 520mm x 110 mm, scale the front and back using the numberplate, measure the height of the scaled body from the back photo and apply to the side on photo, 2 second job and cut ????? it’ll take you longer to type the email,

I still dont see why you have a problem?
most firms that want a van written dont have templates,
    thats why impact do them,

    Hi Peter,

sorry the van was supplied through a local design company!

    Robert,
I still dont see why that matters,
it would take 5 minutes to measure the van, another 5 to split the artwork and cut to suit.
    or am I missing something?
