  • where can I source some correx please?

Posted by Stuart Miller on March 5, 2010 at 12:19 pm

I’m after 3 sheets of 1220 x 24440 correx and Robert Horne will only sell 5 sheets at £7.60 a sheet and then wants £20 carriage. That seems expensive.
Any body know who may sell single sheets and more reasonable carriage or is this the going rate?

Where abouts are you based? I may be wrong but Robert Horne should deliver FOC as you are a UKSG member.

    Cheers

Like Gary says delivery shouldn’t be a problem for UKSG members. Have you told them you are a full member as I always have to do this when I place an order because I have to pay by card so it’s always a cash sale. You may also find the price a bit cheaper if you tell them but don’t quote me on that because I don’t think correx is on the list of discounted items

Amari will do you single sheets for £4 a pop, you’ll need to check with your local depot for delivery charges though.

To be fair Stuart their website is crap, its mainly aimed at users of industrial plastics (engineers, conservatory companies that sort of thing)

Give them a ring, we got some not two weeks ago so they’ve definately got it.

how do you make that expensive?
what will you be selling for?
just buy 5 sheets and keep the other two in stock, but charge your customer so that it covers the cost of 5 sheets.
so you get the 2 extra as a freebie, so next time you do the job more profit

    It’s expensive if it’s only 4mm.

I can’t check what we pay until I go into the office, but it’s nothing like that.

you are uksg member, you do not need to fill in any forms, Rob tells them who is UKSG i believe.

other than the occasional reminder a long time ago, i never tel em i’m uksg, have often ordered only one sheet (cut into what i require) and have never paid postage.

still seems that some RH staff ‘don’t get’ the UKSG thing!

that said, see what the europoint prices are in the members prices sections, it won’t be much more expensive,

edit, prices no longer listed for correx (forex, whateverex)

It was mainly the carriage charge which seemed a lot and after a bit more research and helpful advice from here it seems Amari ill do it for £4.90 in single sheets and £15 postage so my initial reaction was correct.
By asking on here I have just saved £28 which it about half what it would have cost. That is a fair saving.

    thanks everyone for the pointers
