    Excellent advice from Bob

    Just another tip
Use a scalpel or blade along with a straight edge to cut back about one sixteenth short of the edge

This will help you to expel the water at the edge properly and stop it being caught and lifted accidentally

Actually when I said to one tele – sales that I couldn’t afford to spend any more on my advertising budget I did suggest that I could offer my services to a good cause by perhaps doing a few banners or signs for them at a nominal rate………..and it did work

    Gold & Silver Bought
    Cash Paid
New & Second Hand Jewellery at competitive prices

    Just putting the finishing touches to the sign when someones says;

‘So whats this gunna be then???’

Just checkin’ into this post as I understand this is where you check if someone has cast a spell on you……..MMMMMmmmmmmm Nope
    Now I can sleep 😆 😆

    Theres got to be one
Youre quietly going about your business when someone yells ‘Ya spelt it wrong mate’

Times that happened over the years. You half laugh back hoping to convince them that you’re in stitches

Once we were doing a pub called William the Conqueror
Signwriting merrilly along when the publican passes by and says the usual joke ‘you’ve spelt it wrong mate’ My mate and I let out a hearty laugh to let him know we think he’s hilarious. 😆 😆

Half an hour later he passes by again and repeats the yarn
this time were rolling our eyes 🙄 🙄 🙄

Anyway job done, load up our tressles and stuff and tell the publican were off. He says ‘What about the spelling mistake?’
We laugh again to amuse him but a with a dead pan expression he tells us we’ve put an ‘E’ where there should have been ‘O’ (Conquerer Conqueror)
At this point we stopped laughing (hot) (hot) (hot) 😳 😳

Yet again a brilliant piece of work

Only piece of pinstriping I did was on two four wheel drives and a brand new jag using pinstriping tape. (not quite the same I know)

They were accident insurance jobs and the customers insisted (:) (:) that the lines had to be painted on and absolutely no vinyl

    Terry

    Beautiful artwork
Is this a mixture of one shot enamel and custom spraying?

The only thing I could think of for protecting the work is to give it a few coats of frog juice….. at least if vandals did get at it with spray or the like, it would be possible to rub down with fine grade and recoat with frog juice

At the NEC last year they were promoting an anti-graffitti spray that you could use over vinyl and digital prints – Can’t remember the company but they were also promoting the vehicle wrap.

What I think might be a good idea is if we did have some badge or I.D. to indicate we all belong to an online community. 😀 😀

March 1, 2003 at 11:09 pm in reply to: what does everybody else think about signlab v6?

Could not Cadlink make dongles micro chip key operated??
Apparently my VW passat can only be opened and the ignition turned by a micro chip key with its unique code

If I lose the key I have a barcode tab for the distributor to make a replacement

It would mean that if someone did arf’inch your dongle it would be useless since he would need a micro chip coded key (hot)

    What I mean is this;
The possibility of losing/corrupting/breaking or fire damage to your dongle is VERY REAL………. (Cadlink it DOES and CAN happen!!)
But if you can convince the distributor that you still hold the key!!!

Of course this would be a darn nuisance using a key all the time (hot)
Then what happens if you lose the key 😳 – but you still have your dongle??? 🙁

Then again, there might be another way of following this drift

I’m going to stop now because I’m boring myself to death 😮 😮 😮

I have often thought what’s the point of making a back up of your software if something was to happen to your dongle

You’ve mentioned theft and/or corruption, what about fire??? (hot) (hot)

Do you go to your supplier and tell him you been gutted by fire but you managed to back up your discs……. ‘Please let me have a dongle’

Lost the touch with Corel since using Signlab for 3 years
However I’ve just opened Corel 8 up and found Corel capture
    Very interesting!! 😛
This seems at surface to be a good way to do things 🙂
Haven’t got time yet to explore it yet

    Cheers 😀 😀

Not used screen inks before. Is it the same consistency as paint? Can it be applied by brush or roller??

    Cheers

    Sorry!
Should have explained the customer wants a certain colour ( a kind of terracotta- burgundy) to match their catalogue. As you know you can’t always get the colour you want with vinyl.

The thought passed my mind that I could initially cover the forex in vinyl and then paint the vinyl!!!

    The long way round??? 😕

    Thanks Peter:

Useful information. Its seems like the paint’s holding well. Thanks for the visual.

Its just that I’ve got to use gold leaf on the lettering over a quite a large area. So I wouldn’t want the background paint to peel off or crack.

The forex top has a brilliant gloss finish but I wonder if it might be best to rub it down with a fine 400 or something to provide a key and then undercoat it??? 😕 😕

    Cheers!
