    Hi everyone.
Im on the scrounge again here… what do I want?
Well, what I want is more can I have….
More pictures of the registered users of this board.
The numbers of posts by the regulars are climbing sky high and still no sign of a picture.
John Childs, sparky and peter have not long joined and already have pictures.
Go on…. make my day and get some pictures e-mailed to me. 9 out of 10 of us have digi cams so there is no excuse. It’s a new year and ide love to see more faces on here!
Oh yeh and ive heard all the old excuses.
I’m too ugly; you can’t handle a sex symbol on the site. My cat ate them,
The pictures are being developed; I don’t take a good picture, what pictures?

If nothing else it improves the quality of the site, & makes reading posts that bit more enjoyable.

If you want to load it yourself. Feel free this can be done by clicking on your profile link at the top.
You just upload it onto “our” servers so you don’t even need the web space, use ours its there for the taking.

If you are not sure how to do this or size your picture. Just e-mail it to me. I don’t care what size it is or even if you are wearing a frock in it. Ill crop and chop it to suite and load it myself for you…

Go on go on go on…

Yer go on mate take the **** I’ve prepared myself !!
Funny thing is I have always meant to post a picture, at the start I just kept forgetting then as time went on it became harder as I knew people would take the mick. As it is comming up for a year since I joined and I am always telling people how good the site is I thought I’d better include a picture even though I’m not very photogenic.

Regarding the submiting of photos, I do think it is a good idea.

I`ve been on other sites where they do not have this, and there seems to be a lot of bitching/back biting between posts, and general unfriendlyness between members.

People also use false names or codes, instead of using their real names. You go into their profile and none of the details are filled in. These sites are also ripe with people selling “dodgey” items.

People will post threads, and the replys are somethimes damright rude or offensive. When the only crime of the tread posted was being new to the sign game, and asking a simple question.

Photos and personal details, make it more personal/friendley. And stop these “dodgey” postings.

Great site, keep up the good work Rob. 😛 😛 😛

Thanks for your comments Becky, I absolutely agree with you. 😉
I’ve seen many a site go downhill because of folk going elsewhere due to swearing or offensive posts.
I learn something new everyday on this site and i’m about 14 years in the game. If it’s not a technique, it’s a product. Either that or i’m influenced by someone’s work posted. I think that’s what its all about.
Sites run like discos don’t work In the end, it’s not worth having a busy club full of clowns. Very soon you have to ban them all and then your reputation has to be rebuilt. In some cases this is not possible…
When someone registers I have to pass his or her submission. So it helps keep things at bay there.
While the shop is being worked on, so is the site. Registration will change a little; it will be a bit stricter with certain fields becoming compulsory to be filled. Also “site rules” will have to be acknowledged before submitting registration. You will see some differences in about a week’s time, Hopefully the whole speed of this site will get faster. With some minor mods to help with navigation.

Im hoping with the completion of the shop and the new bits and bobs the site will run a lot smoother and for there to be more do and see… with new advertising planned, things should become a bit more active all round. 😛 😛

No nonsense, trivia or offensive behaviour 👿 👿
Everyone trying to help each other out 😀 😀

I agree with Beckys sentiments, Rob
And I do agree with stricter registration requirements as the membership grows so that it will always remain a pleasant place to exchange ideas

with regards to the personal picture. from monday anyone wanting to get access to the file swapping & profile groups must already have completed details and a picture in place with more than ten posts made.. posts as in real posts.. not “i like that” or “very good” or somthing like that as a reply..
its not to make things difficult for folk.. its just to give somthing to the boards that costs nothing.. for a wealth of knowledge i dont think it is much to ask.
saying that, if they are registered but dont have a picture or any posts, thats fine also. the site is still free to use and they can access all other forums.. just not a couple of the more useful ones.

if you already gain access to these areas then dont worry.. this is for new folk that register. i guess i delete and 10 dodgy registrations a week..
i do notify them before hand why though.
i will also do a spring clean on old dormant registrations with no details.. there arent many but i think ive probably left a few here and there…

I truly hope that you are right Robert, but I was the area marketing manager for several large pub/nightclub companies and believe me – all they are interested in is budget and time – i bet i could turn around 3 times the amount of printed graphics in the time that i could do 2 boards. It would be a hell of alot more cost effective for the client too – not initially for me of course because the software is a fair price but i’d soon make my money back imagine the amount of clients i could work for in one day. Come to mention it think of the time i’d save too – in the time it took me to drive from one end of the country to the other to do some boards i could have designed printed and posted the work to my client if it were on vinyl.
it would be a shame though, i really enjoy what i do – i find it quite theraputic.

Hi Nickie and a belated welcome to the boards, I wish I had a tallent like yours but unfortunatly I cant draw to save me life. Luckily I have a couple of friends who can so if I need graphics drawing there isnt a problem. You say you drive up and down the country doing this, I’m facinated how do you get most of your work ? Is it from large corporations that have outlets up and down the country or what?

Yes it is usually large companies with units all over the place but i am lucky in 2 respects A i ised to be a nightclub manager and so know most of the top people to contact in the pub retail and leisure industry as i was a member of the british institute of inkeeping and B one of my contact put me in touch with a national marketing company who launch these venues and he uses me to do the boards – im very lucky, im really not that good at all but its a case of persevering as i need to b self employed so that i can spend time with my daughter too – single mum u see.

thankyou for you interest and warm welcome
    kind regards

    Hi all
It’s a new year and all, how about if you’re a regular, or even a newbie.
Send me your picture and ill load it for you. You can’t get easier than that?
That’s if you don’t fancy working out how to do it from your profile.
Remember, you don’t need webspace. We have covered that!
it doesnt have to be a certain size, ill crop & chop it to suit! 😉

I think one of most important things on a discussion forum site is to have actual pictures of the folk posting the topics & replies. It makes the whole feeling more Friendly. More of a community feel to it… 😀 ok im starting to ramble…
What do you say?. Lets get some fresh faces on the site we have had at least another 50 legitimate registrations in the last couple of weeks and many regulars without pictures..
    Come on… don’t be shy! 😉

    Send them to uksigngroup@hotmail.com
    😀

Ok ok.. Ive slackened off over the last couple of months due to Christmas then server issues etc.. As I start to catch up on things around here I would to start bugging the hell out of you all for “AVATAR PICTURES” I see many regulars post daily and still do not have a picture. Come on? It’s no big deal.. We all prefer to see the faces of the folk we are chatting with. Let ave em??
All I ask is that you email me them and i will crop, chop, resize & load for you!
Easy peazy… i have had at least 6 newbies register and load their images before even making a post? now you have no excuse… 😉 (:)

I personally prefer the Black & White style.
In my case, it hides a multitude of sins.

    Hi folks
Well I have just loaded a couple more avatars.. Thank you very much for taking the time to submit them. 😛

Whilst loading some tonight I spotted a few others that have been uploaded by the person themselves. So I have also added these to a list from the last 7 or 8 weeks that were not thanked properly.

    THANK YOU! (hot)

If I have missed anyone I do apologise.. 😳

I just wanted to add that no one should feel put off from posting an avatar just because they find my good looks threatening. I`ve tried for a long time to put off posting my avatar to try and avoid this, but then i just felt guilty about not sharing my boyish, rugged good looks.

Girls, please form an orderly queue etc

    😀 😉
