    Hello everyone,

Well its almost a year since CP Image was started and the Website is well on its way….. it is now fully online and in the process of testing…… so i would like to ask a little favour of you all to pop in an have a look at it:

    http://www.cpimage.co.uk

If you come across any problems please let me know, you can post on this topic or email me at: info@cpimage.co.uk

I’m very interested in how the site works with mac’s as we did have a few teething problems but fingers crossed they are sorted, and i’m also interested in browers other than I.E, anyone using netscape or mozzilla!!
so if you could let me know what browser your using and if your on PC or mac i’d really appeciate it.

And Finally………… there are a couple of pictures on the site that are not my work……. i have blatently stolen these off this site, please do not get upset with me as they are only there for testing…… i am in the process of scaning photos in……. ahhhhh the good old days of 35mm film…. i’m so glad i have a digital camera now!!

I had a quick look at your site. First impressions are of a very professiona site. However, much of the writing is too small to read without a great deal of difficulty. I am browsing with AOL which is IE5 (I think) and using a 19″ monitor. It would help if the pages were bigger and scroll bars were used to look at each page. 😀

…nice one Lorraine – I particularly liked the speed at which everything loaded.

The text is small – but I found it ok to read. I know you siad about the photos being temporary, but I would’ve liked to have seen any used being of a higher quality and maybe a little larger too. The site looks very professional and the content is well presented but the photos don’t yet do it justice…

    more soon

I looked again with my PC at home. This time there were scroll bars on every page, and the text was much easier to read. I’m not sure why It looks so different on different PCs unless the site was altered since this morning. Most probably it’s the version of AOL installed on each machine. Overall well done – the site looks excellent. Just a slight concern about viewing it using my PC at work. Hopefully this is rare and most people can see it as it’s meant to be seen.

well ive just had a look lorraine & im using mozilla.

i agree with mike and phill.. looks very professional.. well done! 😉

i also found it loaded fast and everything well laid out.

the text for me, well….. it was a bit small. but then again i have terrible eye site. could do with being 1 higher. in turn i know doing that can knock everything to pot.. had simular experiences with the shop pages.. 😡

the images copied.. well i know you have used a couple of my own. but feel free to keep them there until you get some.. i remember you mentioning it to me a while ago so i dont mind one bit! 😀
they could be made into pop up windows of the images. what i mean is when you click the small picture the way you have it. it pops up the same image bigger in a new window.

i like your logo and i also like the background image..
the part im unsure of is the drop downs. not sure if its just mozilla but,
when you hover the link the drop down appears. if you go to click on somthing in the drop down it disappears.! 😮
what you have to do is click the drop down link then it allows you to select a catagory… if its possible ide drop the hover mode for the drop down to appear. i feel its a little confusing.
the text in the drop downs seems to be crying for space. try them in caps & case. or if caps preffered, try dropping 1 pixal..

the promotion section with baseball hats etc. between each product column,, i feel you need a space.. looking at it like it is now gets you a little mixed up deciding what text goes with what image…
just a little space nothing much…

all that said these are just suggestions not critisism in any way.. site looks brilliant…. 😉

    Hi Lorraine
    Great site

Love those little icons to the left

Just a few spelling mistakes 😳

    1 Icon Embroidered
    A Board Icon – occasion
2nd to last Icon – components
Funny how everybody else spots them isn’t it? 😳

But yeah! Great site 😀 😀

    John 🙂

    Looks great on my mac.

Only thing that stuck out was the drop down menus which are 20 or 30 pixels down from the headings. They won’t let me select them, instead I have to click on the main category headings and navigate from there.

Other than that I have to say it’s a very professional job.

    Hi Lorraine

    Nice sight moves fast

looks profesional and easy to find information Im afraid I have to agree with some of the others and that is the text may need to be a tad bigger as not to make people strain to read the info.

Other than that I think a site to be proud of well done

Hi Lorraine, just had a look at your site on the mac at home using AOL. You seem to have done a great job, looks very professional easy to navigate and informative. I will have to get you to revamp my site !!
There are a couple of very minor things I noticed that might be changed, firstly the lack of photos and examples but I know you are working on this at the moment so I’m sure it will be OK when you have finished.
Secondly on the mac using AOL on the mail order page the heading for “T shirts” is on the same line as the order and price download for banners, dont know if it is the same on a PC maybe someone could check.
Thirdly on the neon page it says 27 designs available and on the mail order page it says 29.
Lastly on the signs page for banners and “A” boards the last line says ” point them in the right direction with an “A” boards.
Oh there was one other thing, do you fit window graphics or just supply them ? Reason I ask is because that section reads like you only supply them.
These are all trivial little things but the site looks so good you might as well have it all right.
When I redo my site if it ends up half as good as this I will be very happy.

You have to be cruel to be kind.

    I think it’s awful…………………… (:)

Only joking, 😀 I think it looks very professional ………BUT….and excuse me while I put my advertising hat on for a minute. (raster)

Your in the same position as me, lots of different things to promote and want to tell everyone about them. But people simply don’t read the body copy unless you give them good reason to do so.

Why not change the headings to something like:

We make Banners to help your business stand out!!
Fantastic Promotional Products, new ideas to get your business moving!

Not very inspirational but it is 1am on Saturday morning!!

There’s a general rule of thumb that works so well if you can incorporate it and that is that people can only remember 3 things that you tell them, not strictly true but best demonstrated by phone numbers which are often split into 3 i.e. 02078945678…..0207 894 5678
I’m waffling a bit now but if you can get 3 strong Bullet points in the body copy it may help overcome the ‘readability’ of the text?

while I have not had a look at the site.

I do think it is very important, to get other peoples opinion. When you have created something, you can get blinded, and do not see mistakes or other options.

As for mistakes on the site. We type out our changes we require. Numbering them 1.2.3. etc., and the webmaster still gets them wrong.

So I think it is always good policy to get an inparcial veiw from other people.

    becky.
