We just recently donated a plaque for a local school opening. All big cheeses there and of course we were invited.

We fixed the plaque on the day before and was about to leave.

“Can we fix the curtain rail up before you go??”

    “Of course we can”

Then they hand us a £1.99 curtain rail from Poundstretchers. Not to be detered we drill holes rawl plug it up and give it a go. Fine

Next day big opening and the staff have put the curtains on. Chairman of Sport England gives it a pull, camera flashes everywhere and yes the curtain rail snaps and falls to the ground.

    Everyone looks at ME

Wheres that big hole when you need it.

Anyway laughs all round not our fault and it broke the ice. Now they want another one but we are not putting the rail up.

Thought id share that embarassing moment with you all, im sure youve all had them and would like to share them with us

My wife makes curtains for a living.

She says it is amazing how often people order very expensive curtains only to expect her to fit them to fourpenny rails that don’t have a hope in hell of carrying the weight.
