Hi, just to clarify…
Paul Eastaugh offered a sales consultancy to Impact Graphic Solutions Limited for a number of years. In July 2017 we terminated the relationship for a number of reasons. Several people have now made us aware he is selling copied versions of our products. It also seems he is misleading many of our customers. He has never been directly employed by Impact & despite what he seemingly told some has never been a partner in the business. He has had absolutely no input into the development of our products. The disk he is offering is an old version, the book is a copy with the cover changed. The ‘free’ disks that he offers are copies of disks he has bought from eBay for a couple of pounds.
Impact has been my business since 1995. (Albeit the current Limited company being only registered in 2008). This can be verified on Companies House web site. Our contact details, web site, email, telephone number are unchanged.
Noel Steely is now in charge of UK sales. Derek above would have had a legitimate call from Noel last week.
I am based in Perth, Australia, I moved here in November 2015.
If anybody would like further clarification they can contact me directly at info@impactgs.net Please note as a supplier I cannot reply to pm’s via this site.
You can also contact Noel on 0345 470 2020. Or email info@impactgs.co.uk – our web address is http://www.impactgs.co.uk
Apologies for any confusion this has called. We are happy to answer any concerns you may have.

We don’t provide PDF’s books of our disks for the above mentioned reasons. You could probably scan the book in about an hour for use on your own computers? Don’t recall an email from you. It’s always best to call if you don’t get a reply as some emails get marked as trash by our mail washer.

MemberJuly 21, 2014 at 12:44 pm in reply to: improving a jpeg image in signlab 8 – help needed pleaseMartin, what Signlab package do you have?
In Print & Cut there is option ‘supersize image’ where you can increase the resolution. Works quite well at times depending on the type of image.
-
Ctrl W switches it on & off Lorraine, maybe you inadvertently did that. I hit it sometimes instead of S when saving.
-
Lorraine, do you have ‘snap to grid’ switched on?
Check under the options menu, then grid..
-
Ewan, you can add the shadow & outline in one go. Don’t outline it 1st, just select the text then ‘transform’ & ”shadow’. Choose the stlye in the top left hand corner. You need the 1st ‘blue’ one.
Then to the right tick the outline box & choose the thickness you want the outline to be. Or..
You can adjust the outline & shadow manually by dragging the square & circle on the right side of the selected object.

Thanks rob, but that’s the wrong link. :lol1:

David, did you buy the cutter new? Graphtec used to offer an oem version of Signlab very cheaply with a new machine. Not sure if they still do, may be worth giving them a call..

Welcome back Shane.

In case you were not aware Reiss, although you still may be able to buy the CE5000 it has been superceeded by the improved CE6000 series.
-
Gordon, the 2013 disk will have all the old models on too. The book just gets bigger every year. It has a 1982-88 Fiesta van, so you will have no problem with vans as recent as 2006.

Most outlines will be too big for the workspace in Illustrator.
-
Are you trying to import the EPS files, if you are use the Ai files.
Or publish to PDF in Corel or Signlab. Your designer type feller will be able to open that almost certainly?

quote Craig Clark:Thanks Martin and Nigel for your comments. It’s good to hear that I can continue with photoshop and illustrator and hope this can still be as straight forward as I’m hoping. I would like the use of signlab or flexi but at this moment the idea of spending another grand plus on software isn’t going down too well. I know that if I go with a trial I’ll just want it 🙂
I’ve heard a lot about versaworks but am still a bit vague on its capabilities. I’m guessing workflows and multiple tasks can be organised and carried out easily, along with designs being made directly in the software.
Would Corel draw just be the same as using illustrator as I can’t see the point if another similar software to what I already have. Flexi is so tempting though Aggghh.
Apologies for all the newbie questions at the moment.
Thanks guysCraig, Signlab for Versaworks is an option. It has all the design features of Signlab and works seamlessly with the Versaworks RIP. It’s £400+vat up until the end of the year. It’s normally £650+vat.

Looks like an Isuzu Rodeo.
-
Simon, are you sure your Ranger is the same as the European one? I know the One in the U.S. is completely different to those we have here.
Mostly photos are much less accurate. As an example a customer wanted the exact shape of the rear panel (behind the doors) of an Astra van. Our outline was useful as a guide but not accurate enough. Scaling a photo, the panel came out around 4 inches to short when the length was scaled. The panel is now accurate enough to cut a printed panel from. And it’s on our web site for anybody to download/check/use.
Denise I don’t know what version you have but the sizes of the doors on the Vivaro/Trafic/Primastar should now be pretty good.
We are working on templates for the Chevron kits. It’s taking longer than we would like. I guess these will also be useful if you want to print into panels on the rear doors of vans without going over recesses etc. If anybody has a Vivaro/Trafic that would like to check some shapes for me & give their verdict I would be happy to email them over.
-
Mark, if your soul needs a little more than awakening I am up for a house swap! 😎

Thanks Phill also. 🙂
-
Yes £129+vat. Give me a call mate. 😎
-
Yes Harpeet, it’s £129 rather than £179. The vehicle library is £129, so you are in effect getting the safety library free.
-
Still have it Harpeet. 😀
-
Give this a try, looks the same to me. Bit difficult to tell if it’s exact or not.
-
Cool, maybe you can hang around an advise if anybody else has the same problem! 😉
-
Nothing like a little bit of patience! 😮
-
Fair enough Stephen. 😎
On the subject of logos I can’t really see the problem most times.
If somebody is doing a job for a Vauxhall dealership that requires their logo, then I can’t see the harm in asking here. I assume Vauxhall would supply artwork if necessary. But often it would be quicker to ask in the file swapping section for somebody that has it already.
-
Wavering off the subject a little but Stephen, but recently I had a customer that wanted to print a panel for the most recent shape Astravan. And you are right it that generally outlines are not accurate enough to cut an exact panel shape.
I took a photo of an Astravan, scaled it up & the side panel was massively out of proportion. I think about 6 inches on height when the length was scaled as I recall. So I went back to the outline & adjusted that so I could cut & exact panel. The vehicle is now in our downloads section for all to use. And time permitting I hope to do many more. To achieve this, for me photos won’t be the answer.
Correct me if I am wrong but is it not far easier to produce a customer wrap visual from an outline than it is from a Photo? I know it is for me with my limited use of Photoshop & the like!
And imo it wouldn’t be wise to rely on a Photo, Outline, Manufacturer spec sheet, customer measurement or anything else when producing an expensive wrap. It’s imperative to take some of your own measurements before committing material, ink & time.
-
Who is getting all ‘high & mighty’ David? I as am entitled to protect something I have produced just the same as anybody else. I don’t see any favoritism.
I rarely visit the file swapping section, but as far as I can see font swapping is also frowned upon?
I think there are rules as to what can be posted in there. Can’t see them anywhere obvious though! maybe they should be highlighted in some way.
-
Have replied Simon, cheers. 😎
-
Simon, I know all the companies in the world producing outlines (including fast cars) None of them list the S-Cargo. It’s not very common in these parts, can’t recall seeing any on one of my many trips to your fine country. When people request outlines we try our best to get what they need regardless of how popular they are. Hence why we have that one.
We do on occasions offer single outlines. We charge £15, refundable if somebody subsequently buys our disk. Had you contacted us I would have explained this. Rarely people buy a single outline as the entire collection is relatively inexpensive. Two well known companies charge around 30/40 Euros for a single outline. Buying 4 of those would cost more than buying an entire disk with 1000’s.
Apologies for my original post but it does annoy me somewhat.
-
Amen to that Phill. Shame not everyone will agree with you. It’s getting harder to make a living each year as it is. Shame some folk think buying a disk gives them the right to share with anybody they feel like. In the medium to long term it will either put the prices up, or people like ourselves out of business.
-
There is an article about us on the main page Simon, easy to locate us from that.
Safe to assume somebody has sent it for free then?
Not sure why I bother sometimes. Might get a real job one day.
-
Simon, drop me an email we have it. The 4 other companies in the world that I know of that do outlines don’t seem to. So don’t think it will be anywhere to buy & download.
-
Not sure there will be much come back re copyright. People on auction sites selling hundreds of them. And he is a villain after all. :lol1:
-
Would imagine most have lifted a jpeg from the internet and vectorised it.
Depends which one you are after I guess. If you want one bad enough have a go at vectorising one yourself! 😎
Can’t imagine anybody that has done it themselves & are now selling them will be eager to share their efforts. (?) Looks like a nice little earner on some auction sites. (-)

Lorraine, have tried to contact you on your works number & the pub number. Can you please give me a call if you read this before 4.30pm today.

John as George said it’s in the Light Commercial section (NISS0031) It has been the same shape since 2005.
-
No problem, glad that I could help.
-
Sorry Simon, Signlab 7 will be the one (as that’s the version you are using) I have loads of versions on this PC & Most of them show dates & not version numbers.
-
You need to open the registry editor.
Close your signlab first.
Goto start (bottom left) then run.
Type "regedit" in the dialog box, then click ok.
This will open the registry editor.
Double click the folder "HKEY_CURRENT_USER"
Then double click the "SOFTWARE" folder.
Double click the "CADLINK FOLDER"
You should then see a folder with a date on, double click that.
You will then see another "CADLINK" folder, double click that.
You will then see a folder "TOOLBAR INFO"
You need to right click this folder & delete it. Next time you open Signlab then everything should work as it did.
Sounds long winded but should only take a couple of minutes.
-
Have you got the rulers turned off?
Go to ‘view’ & ‘show rulers’ if you have. Or press alt & R.

quote Ian Davies 2011:I have a number of plates all direct from DVLA.
Favourite is B15 POO which gets lots of laughs (on private car as wouldnt look too good on a van) this one was £300.00 many years ago and I have been told they wont issue any “rude” plates for past few years, was offered £1000.00 for it but I like it too much to part with it.
Got me thinking now as there are so many good combos can be made with the 2000 onwards layouts.
Ian.
Pimlico Plumbers may be interested in that plate Ian. :lol1:

If mirror is checked in the setup it will be reversed in the preview? which it isn’t.
-
Manual here makes no mention of it…
http://www.signcutpro.com/files/man/rol … 60+910.pdf
What version of Signlab do you have?
-
There is an option that mirrors stuff on the cutter, can’t recall exactly as I don’t have much experience with Roland’s these days. Do you have the book for it. Should be a very simple fix if you know what buttons to press (hopefully!)
-
How does it look on the preview in Signlab? maybe your cutter is set to mirror rather than it being the software.

Having the logo on disk doesn’t give you the right to reproduce it. Nor does downloading it from one of the many websites there are out there.
However if you asked by an authorised BMW/Mini dealer to reproduce their logo, perhaps on their windows for example then you have been given permission.
We would never state that you were free to use them as you wish, quite the contrary in fact. The same with places such as brandsoftheworld. In fact I think you have to click a disclaimer each time you download something? They are offered as a convenience for there lawful & proper use.

How much is it for the entry version and the vinyl version please? Just the RRP, not particular deals or anything.
David, the Vinyl version is £450+vat if you are eligible to buy it as a crossgrade which is what Colin did. Older versions used to be quite basic, since version 8.0 it has been far more comprehensive.
