Versaworks with Signlab or Flexisign

You can just carry on the way you are at the moment for cut vinyl using illustrator & for digital print then you can either use illustrator or photoshop so no extra software required. Once artwork is complete import into versaworks to print. If your getting your machine delivered & installed then just ask the guy to show you how.

Signlab, Flexi or CorelDraw would compliment what you already use, you should be able to download free trial versions of these packages and see how they fit with you.

Thanks Martin and Nigel for your comments. It’s good to hear that I can continue with photoshop and illustrator and hope this can still be as straight forward as I’m hoping. I would like the use of signlab or flexi but at this moment the idea of spending another grand plus on software isn’t going down too well. I know that if I go with a trial I’ll just want it 🙂
I’ve heard a lot about versaworks but am still a bit vague on its capabilities. I’m guessing workflows and multiple tasks can be organised and carried out easily, along with designs being made directly in the software.
Would Corel draw just be the same as using illustrator as I can’t see the point if another similar software to what I already have. Flexi is so tempting though Aggghh.

Craig, Signlab for Versaworks is an option. It has all the design features of Signlab and works seamlessly with the Versaworks RIP. It’s £400+vat up until the end of the year. It’s normally £650+vat.

Craig In an ideal world you need your design package of choice plus versaworks (versaworks is not design software but an interface which converts or rips your file to the printer), to be honest I love flexi but also use corel signlab and illustrator. Versaworks can import all the normal file formats but signlab for versaworks has the advantage of being able to send your design directly into versaworks ready for printing which can be a timesaver, hope that makes sense!

Oh and signlab has a plugin so you can send/export files from illustrator or corel into signlab which is handy too 😀
