Here you go….

Just fancied a few hours off, no special reason. :lol1:

Thanks David…maybe a bit of an idea there now………
Cheers everyone 😀I have just emailed you. Had the afternoon off yesterday.

quote Jillbeans:I tried looking it up. GMT, daylight savings time, I haven’t a clue. I am on EST in daylight savings time.
But I will try and catch something of the game.
When does Serbia play next please? If you look at the link to the fixtures somebody posted earlier, there is an option at the top to switch to your local time.
-
quote Jillbeans:Doesn’t the US play sometime tomorrow?
My days are all mixed up, I’ve been doing the brown acid again.
😉3pm our time tomorrow, same as England. 10am your time?
-
Yanks were robbed.
-
Getting Serbia in the sweep-stake is most likely the closest Jill will get to Serbia. (?)
-
quote Alan Wharton:hahahaha a draw 😛 surely they only have to do another 1 of those and they will be on there way home 😛 Then the mrs owes me a tenner i said they will not make the second round, please please please loose the next game 😛 sorry again hehehe
I think you will find they may be on "their" way home. And you are pleading for them to "lose".
I think (and don’t care) both will go through. And both lose when they play a half decent team. England most likely on pens. :lol1:
Do you wanna go another tenner? 😉

Looks like Calamity has been teaching Rob Green a few things. 😮

Never thought of that :lol1:
If David "kerb crawler" Pleat is on I will be happy to listen to the horns. 🙂

😕 Not interested in what Brian?
Missed your post Neil, I’ll get you a good team in the sweep stake.
England mostly. Over hyped. And it’s a sad state of affairs when the best we can muster is Heskey up front & calamity James in goal.
Domestic football is a different matter. Roll on August. 😎

Search for "2010" on brandsoftheworld. It’s the 1st one that comes up.

There are lots of bodybuilders that manufacture the boxes.

Here you go…

WD40 should be fine, only a tiny bit. Worth a try even if Peter doesn’t agree. 😉
-
Sorry don’t agree Peter. I have known plenty of new machines that have had blade holder problems.
-
…..If your blade & offset is ok, it’s the most common cause for cut quality problems in my experience. Would be very surprised if it’s the blade btw.
-
quote Jillbeans:Hello again and thanks.
I don’t know where to lubricate or even what.
(sounds like a different forum)
File sent to Peter to check out.
It did cut the other stuff OK, 12″ letters to fit to a gas station canopy in the morning.
I think it’s just that font. The non pointy end of the blade (the one that doesn’t cut!) rotates on a bearing in the holder. Sometimes it requires lubricating. Don’t know what other forums you frequent! (?)
-
Have you tried lubricating the bearing in the blade holder?
-
The one made from 1993-98 is.

Awful news, don’t usually read the off topic posts. Just flicked over to see this, gutted. Thoroughly nice guy & the best customer anybody could wish for 😥 😥
R.I.P John.
Condolences to all his family.

quote John Childs:How about this for a plan……..
Fly to Vegas.
Rent an appropriate size vehicle.
Hoover Dam
Grand Canyon Skywalk thingy.
Squeeze in a bit of Route 66.
It’s a bit of a hike, but Jenny and I don’t mind doing the driving……
Tombstone.
Back to Vegas.
Did somebody say something about a sign related event?
Maybe take in a show – anybody fancy Jersey Boys?
Fly home.Sounds like a better plan. Have been to the Vegas show & wasn’t too impressed. Nothing much more to see than our humble shows. Except maybe a few cherry pickers.

Paul it’s in the people carriers section, were long gone when you phoned at 7pm last night. :lol1: And was at a football match when you called after on the mobile, so no chance of hearing you there.

Here is the whole thing in PDF….

What are you trying to get it into Brian? you can copy the image to the clip board & paste it into Corel. Here is an Ai and a PDF file. Jpeg is too bit to put here at a decent resolution.
-
Maybe somebody has a version 25 book the same as yours? sorry I don’t have one to hand. What number do your Fords go up to?

It has been on our disk for a long time.

I have this if it’s any use, only have the side which is the reason we never put it on the disk…
-
Is this it? there is also a bolder version..
-
Martin, you can also change the language on the cutter that’s what I meant not the software. As I recall it flashes up HL or GL when you switch it on. Have a look to make sure it says HL if you are using the HPGL driver in Signlab.
-
Sorry Martin can’t remember off of the top of my head, will find out tomorrow if you don’t have it sorted by then.
Do you still have the cd that came with the plotter? the manual is on there. The cutter can run in either HPGL or GPGL. It will tell you how to change from one to the other in the manual. Think you have to press pause & next etc. to get there….
-
Martin has Signlab 8.0 Kevin.
Martin are you still using the Graphtec CE? as Alex suggested have you accidentally changed the language setting?
-
Thanks Jill & Richard.
I used Optima for the line on the bottom even though it wasn’t quite right. Have used Optima Ultra now, needs a little bit of tweaking but hopefully will be close enough.
-
Paul they don’t change all the time but they are alphabetically listed.
So if somebody had an old disk without the latest Kangoo on, then their Trafic outline would have a lower number than somebody with a more recent disk.
-
You can get something like this for around £80…
You will just need to buy coated disks to print on. Should get pretty decent results, a lot better than a sticky label that’s for sure.
-
Dean, I have sent something to Allan. Don’t seem to get a reply when I ask him a question tho? 😕
-
Dean, if you are at the same place as Allan I have just sent something over?

Also I am 99% sure you have it already! should be in the 4×4 section VAUX0001….

Patrick, it is too much money! how can you be saving 4,500??
Buy some new equipment with some proper training not a couple of hours.
If you are prepared to pay that much for something 2nd hand you have no worries.
-
Too much imo.
You may be better off getting a NEW PC, Software, Versacamm (or similar) & Heat Press. Unless you have a particular requirement for a themal machine?
-
Thanks Jason, glad you are happy with it. 🙂
-
If this is what you are after then I doubt you will find it on any disk….

That is who I use, seem cheap enough for a box?
-
Agree, charging people to take their money is not a very good idea.
-
Emma, I have just replied to your email. If you have Illustrator that would be best. Whilst you can import the files into Photoshop it’s not ideal as it will convert them into a bitmap.
-
If you have "a few designs" already what did you use to create the designs??
-
You can find a feature list for the different packages here…..
-
Are they not getting a bit hot on illegal spacing these days?
-
At 1300mm x 975mm your image is 11dpi. I have done 2 more one at 72dpi, one at 144dpi but it won’t let me attached them. PM me your email address & I will email them….

It has been the same basic shape for donkeys years. The front was changed (lights/grill etc.) in 2006.

We use Mailwasher, sometimes it marks genuine email as spam so we don’t see them. Always best to call if you don’t get a speedy reply.

MemberAugust 9, 2009 at 7:44 pm in reply to: Advice needed on cutter for new business pleaseEmma the CE series comes with ARMS, which is the same thing as Opos. (I think Summa call their system Opos?)
This text is taken from Graphtec USA’s web site…
ARMS — Graphtec’s Automatic Registration Mark Sensor system is the laser/optical eye which reads multiple registration mark patterns on pre-printed media to obtain accurate contour cutting for the production of decals, stickers, heat transfer and packaging in the print and cut operation. This system especially benefits those who have a need for contour cutting of longer prints. The ARMS system is designed to compensate for media mis-alignment, material expansion/contraction, and the common media shifting that occurs during the printing process. These intelligent features assure users of unsurpassed accuracy and reliable operation for even the most intricate contour cutting applications.

I have a Dell 5110cn. It has done around 200,000 copies so far. Never misses a beat. Can count the number of times it has jammed on one hand. Will be buying another when (if) it dies. 😎
-
Russell, just be careful next time you buy a machine. You may be unlucky again & get a machine with faults. I know not all plotter manufacturers are as knowledgeable & helpful as Graphtec. Many do not even service/repair their own machines & rely on a 3rd party company to do so. Then you can have real problems.
I think you may have been unlucky with your machine, it’s rare to find people that are unhappy with Graphtec.
Katrina, I think the Graphtec may be the best bet. It’s cheaper, comes with optical eye & has a stand. Not sure the Mimaki comes with a stand or the optical as standard. They are both good machines though.
-
No worries, don’t know where I got the "stopwatch" comment from. Wasn’t looking very closely obviously! 😳
-
-
Surely he needs a course on design & operating whatever design software you have? operating the Graphtec is the easy part. 😀
-
Haven’t got Signlab where I am at the moment. But as I recall you click the advanced box & change the values in there, maybe the option below the one you are changing?
-
Opinion is divided. :lol1:
-
Not a suppliers view at all. It’s my view that is all. And as Chris has also telephoned us, I think it’s a view most other "suppliers" wouldn’t have. They would mosty all want to get a sale I think.
Anyway as you said if Chris wants to join up he will probably save enough on a cutter to pay for joining. His choice. 😎
-
254 not 2540!
What number was there before you altered it? you need to divide the original number by 4 if it was cutting 4x size…
-
What version of Signlab is it?
If it’s a recent version you can adjust the resolution by going to the setup button in plotter setup, then plotter options tab. If it’s cutting 4x size & the resolution is set to 1016, then you change it to 254.
If it’s an older version (version 5.0 for example) then you can adjust it in the ini file. Press alt & e whilst in plotter setup to bring up the ini file in notepad. You then adjust the figure in the scale option (it will be the last number in the line)
-
I think the British Standards are a bit vague. They state that Prohibition should be Red, Mandatory Blue etc. I don’t think there is an exact shade that they should be.
-
quote Glenn Sharp:It just seemed a fair question to ask without the need for a dig in my opinion
Not having a dig? just expressing an opinion. And answering your question!, Not intending to offend. Anyway if Chris doesn’t have a problem doesn’t really matter what I think. :lol1:
-
Will give Paul a kick Chris as he has not passed on the message. It would be the same price from us though. Are you just starting up? if you are you may find getting finance very difficult in the current climate. Would almost certainly be easier (and cheaper) to get a bank loan.
-
Not really sure why I would need to test drive the exact same brand new car twice at different dealers either?
-
Not quite the same imo. Anyway it’s only my opinion. Not really that fussed. 😉
And for the record the last 3 cars that I have bought have come from the same dealer. Who have generally looked after me well. I am sure I may have got a little better deal elsewhere on occasions, but for me the price isn’t always the deciding factor. 😀
