When does Serbia play next please?

If you look at the link to the fixtures somebody posted earlier, there is an option at the top to switch to your local time.

I think you will find they may be on "their" way home. And you are pleading for them to "lose".

I think (and don’t care) both will go through. And both lose when they play a half decent team. England most likely on pens. :lol1:

Martin, you can also change the language on the cutter that’s what I meant not the software. As I recall it flashes up HL or GL when you switch it on. Have a look to make sure it says HL if you are using the HPGL driver in Signlab.

Sorry Martin can’t remember off of the top of my head, will find out tomorrow if you don’t have it sorted by then.

Do you still have the cd that came with the plotter? the manual is on there. The cutter can run in either HPGL or GPGL. It will tell you how to change from one to the other in the manual. Think you have to press pause & next etc. to get there….

You will just need to buy coated disks to print on. Should get pretty decent results, a lot better than a sticky label that’s for sure.

Emma the CE series comes with ARMS, which is the same thing as Opos. (I think Summa call their system Opos?)

This text is taken from Graphtec USA’s web site…

ARMS — Graphtec’s Automatic Registration Mark Sensor system is the laser/optical eye which reads multiple registration mark patterns on pre-printed media to obtain accurate contour cutting for the production of decals, stickers, heat transfer and packaging in the print and cut operation. This system especially benefits those who have a need for contour cutting of longer prints. The ARMS system is designed to compensate for media mis-alignment, material expansion/contraction, and the common media shifting that occurs during the printing process. These intelligent features assure users of unsurpassed accuracy and reliable operation for even the most intricate contour cutting applications.

Russell, just be careful next time you buy a machine. You may be unlucky again & get a machine with faults. I know not all plotter manufacturers are as knowledgeable & helpful as Graphtec. Many do not even service/repair their own machines & rely on a 3rd party company to do so. Then you can have real problems.

I think you may have been unlucky with your machine, it’s rare to find people that are unhappy with Graphtec.

Katrina, I think the Graphtec may be the best bet. It’s cheaper, comes with optical eye & has a stand. Not sure the Mimaki comes with a stand or the optical as standard. They are both good machines though.

No worries, don’t know where I got the "stopwatch" comment from. Wasn’t looking very closely obviously! 😳

Tim have saved it as a Corel file. Have converted the stopwatch to bit map though as that was getting messed up. (assume you are printing it, good luck if not!)

Surely he needs a course on design & operating whatever design software you have? operating the Graphtec is the easy part. 😀

Haven’t got Signlab where I am at the moment. But as I recall you click the advanced box & change the values in there, maybe the option below the one you are changing?

Not a suppliers view at all. It’s my view that is all. And as Chris has also telephoned us, I think it’s a view most other "suppliers" wouldn’t have. They would mosty all want to get a sale I think.

Anyway as you said if Chris wants to join up he will probably save enough on a cutter to pay for joining. His choice. 😎

    254 not 2540!

What number was there before you altered it? you need to divide the original number by 4 if it was cutting 4x size…

What version of Signlab is it?

If it’s a recent version you can adjust the resolution by going to the setup button in plotter setup, then plotter options tab. If it’s cutting 4x size & the resolution is set to 1016, then you change it to 254.

If it’s an older version (version 5.0 for example) then you can adjust it in the ini file. Press alt & e whilst in plotter setup to bring up the ini file in notepad. You then adjust the figure in the scale option (it will be the last number in the line)

I think the British Standards are a bit vague. They state that Prohibition should be Red, Mandatory Blue etc. I don’t think there is an exact shade that they should be.

It just seemed a fair question to ask without the need for a dig in my opinion

Not having a dig? just expressing an opinion. And answering your question!, Not intending to offend. Anyway if Chris doesn’t have a problem doesn’t really matter what I think. :lol1:

Will give Paul a kick Chris as he has not passed on the message. It would be the same price from us though. Are you just starting up? if you are you may find getting finance very difficult in the current climate. Would almost certainly be easier (and cheaper) to get a bank loan.

Not really sure why I would need to test drive the exact same brand new car twice at different dealers either?

Not quite the same imo. Anyway it’s only my opinion. Not really that fussed. 😉

And for the record the last 3 cars that I have bought have come from the same dealer. Who have generally looked after me well. I am sure I may have got a little better deal elsewhere on occasions, but for me the price isn’t always the deciding factor. 😀
