  • Is there a PDF catalogue of Impact safety signs?

Posted by Adrian Neill on February 5, 2015 at 9:08 am

Suppose this is mainly for Brian at Impact, but haven’t managed to get a reply on email.

We’ve just purchased the Impact safety signs disc and could really do with a PDF copy of the catalogue so that all our office people can have a copy to allow us to use the codes in the book when specifying a particular sign from the disc.

Anyone know whether there is such a thing, or if not could one be created ……….

Surely no worse than me having a disc with the artworks already ?

A PDF catalogue could be created with a security password to minimise the possibility of copying.
It’d be handy to have them all with the size underneath, which would save a load of time.

    Hi

It’ll never happen – never found a PDF security that couldn’t be cracked within a few seconds – loads of websites you can upload a PDF file to and get an unlocked version a few moments later.

The superb printed book is Impact’s best guarantee of preventing wholesale instant piracy!

    Cheers

Not for one moment would I even contemplate it, but surely there’s no more risk of me copying the original CD and passing that over than a PDF copy ? I do agree that the printed catalogue is great (although would be slightly better with the original sizes printed underneath), but when we’ve got 3 or 4 people here that could be specifying signs from this CD, the printed catalogue is going to get very ‘dog-eared’ very quickly.

There could be extra revenue to be made from this though (for Impact) as it’d be great to have an option to further purchase a CD with the catalogue in a PDF format for say £10.00, but obviously only for customers that have already purchased the CD that’s already on offer. We’d quite happy pay extra for this.

Adrian, i don’t understand why you need the sizes printed. I open the template in flexisign, scale up to 2000% and thats it at the correct size

It’s not a problem for me (I work in our studio and have access to various sign programs), but if one of our job managers is setting up a job for some safety signs and wants to specify a standard sign already set-up in the Impact catalogue then they’ve only got the catalogue as reference.

Don’t get me wrong, i’m not complaining about the disc, it’s already been a great help, it’d just be REALLY helpful if we had a catalogue with the original sizes on and it’d be great if it was a PDF so we could keep it on our servers for our job managers to access when specifying the standard signs.

Adrian, the next version 7.0 should have sizes. You can buy an extra book for £10+vat. We don’t provide PDF’s books of our disks for the above mentioned reasons. You could probably scan the book in about an hour for use on your own computers? Don’t recall an email from you. It’s always best to call if you don’t get a reply as some emails get marked as trash by our mail washer.

Do you have Adobe Bridge ?

If so you can use this to create contact sheets and print either paper copies or print to PDF …. I have done it for other images that I wanted to give one of our customers so that when ordering signs they could give me the reference/filename..

I think it does depend on the file and whether a preview is a available.

    Nick.
