Or maybe you could find Adrian’s saturday morning moonlighting crew.

-
best of luck ewan if you can get travel costs to quote for jobs:o i think you would need to weigh up if its worth while?? before you travel or what about a quote fee that you would remove if you get the job and say that up front??hard one as fuel/time is a huge costs now for quotes.

quote Peter Michael Coogan:Would like some advise on what vinyl is best for flooding the rear windows on the new volkswagon caddy, recently applied one with Ritarama 400 serie silver vinyl but the customer brought it back saying he would like it replaced
There was a few tiny creases in it so I have to do it again what vinyil would you guys recommend cheers
Petei have flood coated lots of van windows in ritrama with no problems but if you want to try another brand maybe 700 avery.how long was it done before the creases appeared??

quote Martin:Best advice I can give you is make yourself a cup of tea or coffee (in fact make a flask). Sit yourself down, get comfortable & phone Edward Mathias.
You will be on the phone for a considerable length of time but you will come away knowing everything there is to know about plotters & the different media they cut. :lol1: :lol1: :lol1:
derek must have made that call martin 😮 😮 thats why he’s not been back on to reply :lol1: should we send someone around to top up the flask :lol1: :lol1:

HI Simon, sorry slightly off topic,do you cut these the exact size of the windows or trim in after just wondered how you stop water/weather getting between the laminate and the contravision or is the laminate wider than the material and seals the edges.??J 🙂
-
Hi Robert,Welcome to uksb, what material did you use on that wrap and what part of our island are you based?? 🙂 J
-
Welcome Anthony. 🙂

As Phil said sit down work out your material costs and fitting time and what profit margin you want to add and submit a price from there dont go chase’in someone elses price.

quote josh morris:wonder what people on here will have to say about this one I did a while back, oh and it passed MOT by a reputable MOT station that does everything by the book
thought it would need a reg plate to pass the mot 😀 :D,as for reputable mot stations do they not all have to work to the same rules/standard :o….. :lol1: :lol1:

quote Chris Foster:Hi there, I have a customer who wants me to wrap his car in the colour in the attachment below. I have been looking through my 3M/Avery/Arlon swatches and can’t find a decent match (might be the light i’m in!). Has anyone any ideas? The nearest I think is the ‘Light Blue CB1510001’ Avery colour but it still looks a little dark?
Thanks
havent a clue about the colour 😮 but it look a nice place for a holiday :lol1: :lol1:

quote Martin:John, couple of options, you won’t need to worry about not getting any updates for windows xp if you keep the computer off the internet.
If you upgrade to windows 7 & get either the pro or ultimate edition you can run something called xp mode which will run most software that previously ran on windows xp.
You could also install something like vmware player which is a virtual computer & then install windows xp on that to run all your old software.
Thanks Martin 🙂

im in much the same position i have signlab 8.1 and xp and ive been told windows 7 or 8 are ok,i think i will go for w7 as my computer people say it can be trimed in to work very like xp,which would be nice as im slow to take on change 🙁 🙁 , also from whats been said on here about w8 its to be avoided.signlab had an offer to upgrade to 9.1 but i cant remember the cost.

Hi shane and welcome . 🙂

well then i suppose the rule of tum would be if your mezz floor is higher than your door height your sorted 😀
-
Denise, you should not need to learn a new accounts package any accountant firm that cant use quickbooks should be avoided its like me sending you an eps or ai you have to deal with it, so your accountant should be able to do the same for different accounts packages, that small business you have with 10 sales a month 250£ a year should be loads 🙂

i dont think that you would be liable for anything by fitting but if your client is not the onwer of the property he cant apply for permission to do anything, he does not own it,also on fitting anything to a rental property the owner needs to agree to the work/changes to his property.get legal advice before you do any more :)also if there on public property your client cant have any insurance for them.

David, thats great news to here someone is busy and expanding, hope the trans to up stairs goes smooth 😀 J

quote josh morris:quote Kevin Flowers:Products on the lens or light source that reduce the light’s intensity or change its colour are now a reason for failure
so what if they do not reduce the light intensity or change the lights colour? i have fly eyes tint on my head lights, do any of you know what fly eyes actually is? it does not reduce my light output whatsoever and does not change the colour of my lights[/quote
come on josh if you put fly eyes on the lamps it has to reduce reduce light output youre covering part of the lamp maybe not to mot failure level but it is reduced, you are sold on this subject and idea and making a few quid from it fair enough but you thinking on the concept is wrong and un- supported.sorry 🙁 🙁
-
welcome josh 🙂

im probley living in the wrong country 🙄 but is tinting car lights that big a business that you would offer these services that are bordering on legal/illegal like has been said some mot centers will pass it some wont so what do you do with the ones that fail?give them a refund :o?? a well its keeping those VOSA boys busy 😀 :lol1:

We created a directory of all the fonts from all the machine s . Then loaded that to the computer s that would need them all.
Have to update it now and again as you may add a font for one job here and there.Ditto. Central font store and install on all the machines…fool proof.
For the fools please 🙂 how do you create a central font store that you can move about and install on other machines 🙂

I just feel that after all these years its a shame that RH has such a cavalier attitude to keeping loyal customers on board
i think its great kev that your moving on and finding new suppliers and probley better prices with new companys that are keen to do business.
if anybody from RH looks on here think its time ye woke up and smell the coffee if ye cant look after the good long term customers god help the new ones or do ye think yer above all that!!!! 🙄
