Probably due to signlab not interpreting the embedded fonts correctly.
Ask whoever created the file to convert all text to outlines or curves prior to saving the pdf file.

    Hi guys

Yes I’m importing it as graphics. And I don’t think it’s because the font hasn’t Been converted to curves either because I received the file of there logo from the customer. Opened it everything was fine then e-mailed it to a girl that I’ve got working on designs for me. Then she e-mailed back the design that looks like the JPEG!

Is everybody getting the same when they open it?

I don’t think the problem is with SignLab more with the program that created the pdf file or more precisely the fonts that the program used.

I’ve opened it successfully with an old version of Acrobat without problem.

If you import the file into SL and leave the import text as graphice box unchecked you’ll be asked to replace the fonts used, and in that box it shows the name of the font used in the file. My Windows XP machine has a lot of fonts installed but it didn’t recognise the font(s) in the file. Just to check I just relaced all with Helvetica Bold and bingo the file opened successfully.

    Hope that helps
    Steve

I contacted my design and ask her to increase the file size and for some strange reason that has solved the problem.

Thanks for all your help tho

    Martin
