With one hand, your going to find holding the media and squeegeeing tricky mate!

If you get any bubbles in a perforated media, your off to a bad start. 😕

    sorry, ill shut up 😳

Its going on the five rear windows of a Nissan Urvan. Each window approx. 4 feet by 2, so not that big. The back window has a slight curve.

For me the best way is to tape it up and align on the window then hinge from one side.

Peel backing paper off and quickly tack it all on.

Then start from the middle and squeegy it out untill it comes to the curves then gently stretch to fit then do the same to the other half.

Best doing it when temp is cool, can be quite sticky when its warm.

When its applied trim back about quarter inch, i use quarter inch lining tape.

Then when your finished give the whole widow a good heat to get the vinyl to stay down on the bits you stretched….obviously dont over heat the glass.

remeber give the glass a good clean, i like the avery cleaner.

    Hope that helps

I think I should add that the contravision has been laminated with that super clear laminate, so it is very liable to get air bubbles if not applied in the correct sequence. I cannot tack it down all round the window and simply squeegee from the middle out, or it will look very ugly. it absolutely has to be held away from the glass everywhere except where it is actually being squeegeed.

HI Simon, sorry slightly off topic,do you cut these the exact size of the windows or trim in after just wondered how you stop water/weather getting between the laminate and the contravision or is the laminate wider than the material and seals the edges.??J 🙂

I decided to go for it and apply the contravision to the van. I used a lot of tape to hold the material in place, and I taped a piece of wood along the free edge to use to hold it away from the glass in a more controllable fashion while I squeegeed it using a teflon squeegee, very slowly. No air bubbles, no mess. All the windows went on easily.

John I trim the material down from oversize and use 3M edge sealer.

I use the guard knife to cut a 3 inch strip of backing paper off then align as normal. You can then work side to side with ease like the centre hinge method
