I understand that the officers where "Only doing their jobs" But I don’t think humiliations and treating someone as a criminal should be part there jobs. Finally a simple apology would have been sufficient.
Dave this is the 2nd time we get a bad cartridge. Six months ago we had it with a magenta it was fine for the first 50ml or so and then the sensor problem happened.
Cheers Guys.

Jon D. The print on PVC we are using is less saturated. Since we first installed the L26500 we have been using the icc profile that came with Onyx postershop rip and the colours are excellent on all medias we use on the other eco solvent printers. Maybe we need to install or create new profile for PVC banners.
Just like nick says, I also have positive feedback after using the L26500 for over six months now.
With latex inks, unlike solvent inks, The prints comes out of the printer dry, ready to laminate or apply.
The heads on the l26500 are user replaceable. and the media is front loaded so you can save valuable a lot of space in your shop.
The only drawback is that you need separate 16amps power source for the printer alone.Cheers

Hi Jon D,
We have been using the L26500 since March this year. No complaint until now. All the guys here prefer to use the Latex printer instead of the Eco solvent printers.
Most of the media you have listed prints very well on the L26500 except PVC banners that we are not too pleased with the quality. We have to lower the temperature which makes the overall print quality lighter. As an alternative instead normal PVC banners we use the HP scrim banner. Nowadays you can get quite a range 3rd party media that prints better than HP’s own branded ones. On the other printers we are using Jetbest and Lyson Nazdar inks. The Latex inks is more scratch resistance than the other 2 inks. Yes we mount lots of our prints without lamination on boards, thats no problems.Regards

We received our L26500 end of March. We are on our 5th set of ink now. And we are using 2 rips, Wasatch and Onyx Postershop. Print result on most media are great except for PVC banners that we need to lower temperature otherwise it burns the coating, print quality is not so good and we need to experiment more. Double sided banners was a problem at first. we wasted about 15m before we managed to get it right. We also printed some flags last month and up till now they look fine.

John, Because of those issues with new operation systems, most of our Macs are still on leopard except one iMac which has Snow leopard, with the Imac we still have not sorted out the driver problems yet. We had to share our OKI C9650 with other Old MacPROs for printing. The lion looks great I will try it on the imac and see how it goes.

Hi Zoran,
As said above, I was also having problems with my Oce CS which is also a re badged Mutoh Vj 1614. As my Supplier was unaware what modifications Oce has made to the printer he advised me to charge a few parts and it worked.
If you want to try replacing firmware you can download from the website
http://service.mutoh.com/#/Firmware/
But that would be a risky, maybe you should ask for advice from a mutoh tech.Cheers

I think they are both equally good machines. If you thinking of the Océ cs9160 you may be limited to Oce’s original inks as their smart chips are not the same as the Mutoh’s VJ 1614. We have a CS1614 and we had to convert it back VJ1614 which was not so easy. But I would recommend it, Its good machine.Cheers

Michael. What printer you are using? Are you using existing profiles?
The samples I have here is a bit dull too. -
Michael. There is an ongoing test being done by my supplier on Mutoh Hybrid printer in Singapore. The Sepiax water base resin ink can print on almost any surface even mirror. Report says sepiax requires lower temperature than latex. I print samples it looks good, am still waiting to hear comments from my supplier.
Being a used how do you find the ink. Please let us know I am very interested.

Hi, Gavin,
The Oce CS6060 is a re-badge Seiko Colour painter 64S or now HP Designjet 9000S mild solvent printer. It is a good Machine. I’m not sure about its maintenance cost. The Roland FJ 500 is a water base dye/pigment printer just like the encad but better. http://www.bass.lv/fj600.pdf
As the guys wrote, Encad days are gone and it is better you go for a Mimaki, Roland or Mutoh. I had Encad Novajet Pro36, PRO600, Pro630, Vinyljet they were good machines those days.

Like Roland ColorRip, Rasterlink is a limited verson Wasatch Softrip.
We have Wasatch 6.6 and Shiraz V6.6 server plus. If I were to compare, overall I would say Rasterlink being a Wasatch Softrip is much better than Shiraz. Eg: Cropping an image in Shiraz is a pain compare Softrip. The only advantage for us is that Shiraz being able to install on a Mac. -

Hi Barry. Roland Eco sol Max and Mutoh Ultra are made by the same company. I have in the past mixed both inks in an Oce CS9160 which is a re branded Mutoh valuejet 1614. Both inks are made by TOYO in Japan.
If the cleaning carts are from Roland there shouldn’t be a problem.Cheers

That was a really desperate move Jason. I am glad I have finally solved the problem. There must be other way.
-
Jasons, I had to replace the main board, ink ID board and a new print heads. It came around £3k, that was really expensive. But I was told that a single firmware upgrade might have also work. I still have about 40 original Océ smart chip left just in case you want to use mutoh ink.
-
Hi Jason,
I have an OCE cs9160. I had occasionally experience the empty cartridge messages while there were still ink left in the cartridge. I both separate Oce smart chip so I was using 3rd party ink. I though that the problem could have been the ink limit on the smart chips. To solve all problems recently converted my printer back to Mutoh.Cheers

That’s great news Adriano. Looking forward. I was looking for a Mac Base RIP and had a choice between Shiraz, SAI Photoprint, Caldera and I went for Shiraz Server.
-
Justin, all our work are done on Mac. We have one quad core PC for running Wasatch rip and to converting corel draw files from clients. We recently installed Shiraz 6.6 rip server on the Mac so we are now running our large printers directly from a mac. If you have decided to switch from PC to Mac just go for it. The only draw back is that if you were using Corel Draw on PC, Mac verson up to v11 only. So consider either Adobe Illustration or Freehand.
The 20" iMac is a good machine but consider the MacPro for greater expansions. Or an alternative to iMac you could try the new Core2duo Mac mini. It has enough power to run any professional applications, very affordable, and connects to your existing monitor, keyboard and mouse.

I think the FujiFilm Aquitys are rebadged Oce arizonas
Same as the Fujifilm there are two new models of Océ Arizona, The 350 XT print at speeds up to 23sqm/hr and the Océ Arizona 350 GT prints at 22.2 sqm/hr in production mode. Océ’s VariaDot imaging technology for droplet sizes from 6 – 42 picolitershttp://www.oce.com/sg/specials/oceantides/topic3_mar09

Hi Scot. I have seen both the Oce Arizona 250GT and Fuji Film Acuity HD2504 in various trade shows and they are impressive machines. Being able to print 8ft x 4ft rigid and 2.2m wide roll media that gives a lot scope. The Oce Arizona 250GT won the DPI Product of the year 07 and several prestigious awards. I also learned the Oce and fujifilm has probably sold more of those UV printers than the big players such as Vutek, Zund, HP/Colorspan etc.
I saw the newer/faster Fuji Film Acuity Advance that includes white ink option drawing large crowd at the Sign & Graphic trade show in Dubai Feb 09. Fuji film was using Colorgate RIP
It is said that the downside of Oce Arizona 250GT and Fuji Film Acuity HD2504 is the UV lamp light leak.

Whereas The VJ-1614 can hit 18.x sqm/hour in 720×720 4 pass mode with kind of quality that outperform the Soljet. It also makes me wonder why other companies such as B&P Lightbrigade, Epson, Xerox, Oce, Asbru, Fujifilm etc are now rebranding Mutoh instead of Mimaki and Roland as they used to.

MemberFebruary 28, 2009 at 6:22 am in reply to: Roland EcoSol MAX vs Mutoh Eco ULTRA inks?I am using Wasatch Softrip 6.4 server. EVOsol I haven’t had any complain from my customs but we waist quite a bit to get the colours right. It is about 3 mouths since we got our Oce cs9160 (Valuejet 1614) the original ink that came with it is still in the cabinet and that’s a big risk we took by going straight to ITL. This year the St Patrick anniversary celebration will be going on for a whole week instead of the normal one day. We have the contract of printing seventy 4mx1m PVC banners with full ink coverage. That will be lots of green and black. We are using the Valuejet to print the whole 280m. The colours are perfect but we are still having trouble with the cyan which need attention. For the valuejet I am thinking of using Bordeaux Prime Eco Mix & Match ink or go back to the Mutoh Eco ULTRA ink. I’ve heard good things about Lyson so as Triangle, Megaink, Eleventen, Techink.
I first used Uniform Citrosol ink which is Bordeaux ink in the Cadet Plus before. It was a good ink but the lemon scent was way too strong for customers. If I print a lot during the day when I reach home smelling like lemon my wife thinks…
