    Hi all
We have Mutoh Valuejet, Roland Soljet and Versacam.
Does anyone know if the Roland EcoSol MAX, Mutoh Eco ULTRA, Mimaki ES3 have the same inks chemistry? Are they manufactured buy the same company?

Heard that the Roland Ecosol Max ink is Made by TOYO in Japan. Ink from those 3 manufacturers have the same specs.

Kev, are you still using ITL Evosol?

No mate, switched back to ITL ECOMAX a few weeks after fitting the ITL EVOSOL just could not get the colours. I’ll give them their due they have been helpful with a bit of pushing. Had heads clog up on Magenta & black at different times for no apparent reason & they replaced them F.O.C. At present i have CY Lc Lm ECOMAX inks special mix magenta and Black EVOSOL to stop problems. No clogging issues and its a lot better but still needs refining having problems with Black & Magenta leaving smears at edges on heavy fills.
How are you getting on with the Evosol

Still using ITL Evosol. On the Uniform printers it is fine. On the Valuejet the prints really good but I’ve having problems with the Cyan that clogs head too often. I was recently in a trade fair in Dubai and met DR Nicholas Hullmuth from flaar. He suggested AQUA TINT inks from india stated that it is a good company and the only SPECTRA approved ink. Inktec and Inkwin (China) were to other inks he suggested.

What rip are you using & how are you finding the colours, reds in Versaworks where absolute crap which is why i reverted back. Have you tried ringing ITL if you haven’t try speaking with Shaun Holden. They visit the boards now & then so may reply as well. i haven’t made my mind up with my inks running low now so decision time is fast approaching as to stick with what i have or look elsewhere. Was looking at the LYSON 2000 series inks which contary to the name have got good reviews since being taken over by Nazdar they are warranted by Mactac if used with their media. But like all sales pitches you never know till you have them in your machine.

I am using Wasatch Softrip 6.4 server. EVOsol I haven’t had any complain from my customs but we waist quite a bit to get the colours right. It is about 3 mouths since we got our Oce cs9160 (Valuejet 1614) the original ink that came with it is still in the cabinet and that’s a big risk we took by going straight to ITL. This year the St Patrick anniversary celebration will be going on for a whole week instead of the normal one day. We have the contract of printing seventy 4mx1m PVC banners with full ink coverage. That will be lots of green and black. We are using the Valuejet to print the whole 280m. The colours are perfect but we are still having trouble with the cyan which need attention. For the valuejet I am thinking of using Bordeaux Prime Eco Mix & Match ink or go back to the Mutoh Eco ULTRA ink. I’ve heard good things about Lyson so as Triangle, Megaink, Eleventen, Techink.

I first used Uniform Citrosol ink which is Bordeaux ink in the Cadet Plus before. It was a good ink but the lemon scent was way too strong for customers. If I print a lot during the day when I reach home smelling like lemon my wife thinks…

i have had problems in the past with Cyan but this batch on a new head its remained firing 99% with very little clogging requiring just normal cleans. Now might be the time to contact ITL has i said before they made a special formula on the Magenta for me because of the exact same reason continuous clogging of that colour.

Kev, on 6th February 09. I emailed Shaun & Dean to report the problem. Dean email back immediately asking for the batch number. I am since waiting. Just Imagine if I have a serious problem with the printer, I have fly a technician from Europe or Asia to solve the problem.

You do have to keep on their case, problem is you can cause even more problems changing ink makes, which you don’t need with the order you have to get out. It is wrong that a product available off the shelf gives grief like this which as been my argument in the past i have had 2 magenta heads in under 3 months the 2nd was supplied by them.

Hi we have been using Nazdar inks for about 6 months in our VJ 1604, touch wood no problems. Straight swap no flushing colours good and half price of originals.

Finally a happy Nazdar ink user. Glad to hear that lyson ink works well with Valuejet Neil. I spoke to a supplier in Cape Town, SA and he offered me to use Lyson 2100 cartridges. How much does a 440ml cartridge cost in UK?

is that because you have heard bad things about the ink, i use refill so can’t comment on price. 1 LTR bottles are £75.00, with all the wild promises it is hard to know what way to go.

Heard that Lyson pigmented inks use to clog Encad print heads but that was long time ago, before Nazdar. I’ve don’t quite a bit of research and also found some users on other forums who are having no problem with the Lyson 2000 eco ink

It seems that on all the forums I’ve come across no one against Nazdar Lyson 2000 inks. I am convinced guys.

let us know how you get on, also from past experience make sure you flush the EVOSOL well & truly out of the system. Are you going to replace dampers etc. I mixed a drop of EVOSOL with ECOMAX and you get a stringy gel form, i’m sure thats why i had so many problems & am hesitant on changing again.

I will keep you posted Kev, I am sure that it will be fine, I have already flush the EVOSOL out in the Oce cs9160 and installed the Oce Eco Ink cartridges. I have completed 20 x 4mx1m banner with no special attention required like the previous ink and the colours are much better.

Good to hear all is well & your getting your work out, the lyson 2100 for the Mutoh is a direct swap if i remember rightly. So if you are running original inks it should be as simple as inserting the new inks as the old ones run out.

Did you get sorted with a supplier for the Nazdar carts?

Does anyone know of a reliable bulk ink sys for the VJ 1604.

Thks Kev, I spoke to Chris at QPS, he says the 2100 should be compatible with the Oce Eco ink. Just direct swap I will be up and running

Neil, Yes manage to get a good deal from Quality print services. I have seen a few types of very cool continuous ink supply refilling systems for the Valuejet from Triangle Digital. They even supply for the vertical cartridge bulk system for Valuejet 1614

I switched from EcoSol max to Nazdar lyson 2100 ink 3 days ago. At first I felt high as the ink has a stronger odour, fortunately I am getting use to it now. The lyson ink seems to dries faster that the oem. I had to experiment icc profiles as the Magenta seems to be slightly stronger. It is too earlier to make other comparisons.

    Andre,

Are you still with the Lyson inks, if yes how are you finding them compared to Activasol, good and bad points if poss.

    Many thanks

    Russell.

We buy our inks from QPS and they are shortly going to release a bulk ink system for the VJ 1604 using the Nazdar inks.

    Russell,
I am now on my fifth sets of 440ml cartridges and have not had any issues yet. I cannot compare the Activasol inks to Nazdar but I prefer it to Citrosol.
The Nazdar is much more scratch resistance, dries faster wider colour gamut.

Neil, we are buying ours from QPS too. Triangle also have some good bulk ink systems for Mutoh, Mimaki and Roland.

    Many Thanks guys

Well i have swapped to Lyson Nazdar bulk carts & i have been really impressed with the results so far. A few colour issues yellow is very golden so can change certain colours. Hopefully that will be solved once i get my head around profiling.
