I got a Canon and I actually just phoned them and they wouldn’t even say if it was 2, 25 or 50 years. They wouldn’t risk giving any life span at all due to the many variables regarding the finished product.

I think what you sent and a small bit I found online it will be enough to satisfy the customer.

for the real stuff i use a acid free paper pigmented inks tell customer must be glass covered, and not to be displayed within 6 ft of windows, no direct sunlight.

So do you do Giclee printing Chris? where do you get your paper from? I just use cheap stuff at the moment as it’s just for posters etc.

mainly been water colour copies for gallery sales

arkona and willian turner papers from hahnemuhle.
for photos a resin backed 225 gsm acid free photo satin paper last from AIT.

i use a epson 9500

I am using a Roland FJ 42 to do canvas and photo prints. For canvas (100% cotton) they say you can get 75 – 100 year life. On photo papers if you want long life I would think the quality of paper would come into play with the life of the print. Also don’t use DYE inks as they won’t last as long and are not water resistant. So far from the different pigment inks I have read about all seem to be about the 75-100 year.

Also for the canvas what you coat it with might have a lot to do with quality and final look. I use one that might be re-labeled. It says its Eco Gloss. I have actually for a test printed some on the solvent printer ( don’t get as good of result as in duller ) and coated with the same Eco Gloss and it bonds just fine.

Hi Warren,
There are many using Canon for Art repro. It is said that the Canon Lucia pigmented inks could last more than 25 years. It is also important that you use proper media such as Innova and Hanemuehle for long lasting prints
