I have a vs540 also but opted for the double cmyk as we have the edge 2 if I get white / chrome jobs ! Will look into the new fx ! Is there any other foil manufactures out there , looking for flo yellow , Zeronine , sign foils , duracoat , renown , original , is there any others we could look at ? Keeping my foils would make the changeover slightly easier to swallow !

MemberAugust 2, 2012 at 7:22 am in reply to: Can I use my FC8000 to cut prints from my Gerber edge 2?our cuter is the GS15 Plus , the material will def not flow in around the sprockets. Is there a way of dawning in illustrator, Making a reference point ( zero point ) print it on the gerber then bring it back to the Graphtec FC8000 , line it up to the reference point manually and pressing cut ? without looking for Registration points on all four corners. Just like if you were cutting plain Cut vinyl?

Don’t fancy the 5k for the Envision when we have a good cutter. thanks for trying anyway jason. Tim

Tim -
Does this count to the Northern Ireland branch?, I cant manage to get free delivery even if i spend £500 never mind £50
Tim -
I have same issue still not found out why myself?
-
We just bought a graphtec FC8000, it can contour cut perfectly each time, It can decal cut out as well we just not set it up or tired it yet but i think if you have the printers already then the high end cutter would be a good match, we love ours and only have it in a month, the versacamm can’t cut or match its performance! I dont even have a blade in the versacamm anymore!

Is there any other settings i should be looking at when printing apart from the colour pallet, we are getting different output on same job when we changed from X3 to X5, we use a corel standard CMYK and RGB pallet but same jobs printed from versaworks on same profile come out different?
The x3 being brigher, but we have changed to X5 and want to stay that way. ?
We got the banner2 profile sent to us, many thanks
Tim -
Sorry its a Sp540v
Cheers, tried generic banner 1 but it is not got the pop im looking for ! been told the banner 2 is much better !

Just checked its OK as well, we replaced the 3amp fuses in plug and they blow, put a 10amp fuse into the plug and then the 2 on side of machine blow, is there any Engineers in Northern Ireland that would work on them that you know of Ian?
Tim -
the only way i have been able to do it is to output it to an AI file and then import into composer and then sit and add all the colours to each part again, takes ages but only way i have been able to work it from coreldraw to the Edge.

MemberDecember 3, 2010 at 3:52 pm in reply to: Hmm, problem customer, what would you do?Tough one – small claims court didn’t work for me.
Estate agent – new company – £1000 billFrom memory as couple of years ago now.
£175 to take to small claims, they failed to respond
Nothing happened , so CCJ issued against company
Another £120 to enforce it ( whatever that means )
Spoke to someone in an office about it ,
She told me that if the company goes bust which was what they were letting happen, then Max i would expect was 10% of original bill which was £100 , decided to cut my losses at that point and learned a big lesson. The assets they had was a desk and chair !!For me it only works if a company does not want a CCJ issued against them and you settle the issues between you.
So i would have spent £300 ( Plus materials / Time ) to get back £100

MemberOctober 24, 2010 at 7:13 pm in reply to: White backup vinyl over clear graphic help?yeah when its bent or stretched it breaks or separates , but once you try to stick it and replace it the thermal white print comes apart, if i do it all thermal then no problems at all , its only when i digitally print it then try to flood it on the edge this happens – The white vinyl Avery 800 works but its two pieces as the edge way is one piece so should be better, Is there other vinyl manufactures that would have a really strong adhesive to them?
-
TimDouglas

When the bi directional setting is done at the base point its fine when done in the second half of the material its completely a mess and unreadable, is this normal ? Even over 300mm its not printing straight and is about 5 mm off.
thanks -
Thanks chris , tried reseating it and the rest of them with no success, even put the empty one back in and it didnt change, it has made the magenta jump from half full to full, the chip might have effected the lot possibly.

I would go to it, Im in Londonderry, 1 hour from lisburn.

MemberJune 6, 2008 at 10:22 pm in reply to: how do i make a hardened glass workbench please?Im lucky enough to be in a unit joined onto a kitchen company who are kitting it out to my spec, I have 6mm laminated glass priced at local shop at £100.( 8ftx5ft) He tested how hard he had to hit it with a hammer to break it which i was impressed with . I don’t mind paying as i have been using polypro on the bench at the minute and after doing 5k stickers for the NW200 cutting them by hand made a mess of some off them due to the cut lines. The guy building it wants to put supports and divide the bench into 4. Then i could put 4 lights into it. As for doing other jobs i will have two other benches, smaller but will do.

No its to make stickers for a race team to hand out to the kids at the NW200 , I have other sponsors etc to add so there all red, black , yellow so didnt want to have to use so many foils. been playing about with it today and its not to bad, but if anyone has a go i would like to see it. 3/4 colour for spot colour printing.

Brand new press from magic touch – 38×50 atkins I think, only done less than 50 presses, Can do polo shirts etc no problems, Problem was with the bleed through on the di sublimation poly shirts , used target transfer premium on this one with not recommended settings ( they are 160 20 sec med pressure ) I used 155 / 10secs each layer to help reduce bleed through , it helped but I am guessing its just not suitable .
Thanks
Need a vinyl that will block everything ?
-
Back to the drawing board with this again, the 155 degrees 10sec on each layer, 60 degree wash and tumble dry , the lines came back and it lifted?
That’s from all the suppliers I know off, don’t want to list them in case someone is offended. need a subli blocker vinyl if you know what i mean, Any other suppliers I can try as I have cad cut shirts here from other companies that work well, Just got caught with £ 500 worth of the stuff which worked well on the colour samples I had, its the light colours especially white with the problem. -
-
Rivalart do some good ones in the motocross section, none with one hand waving, will check what I have at home tomorrow but I don’t recall one with a hand off, i would like one of a standard whip myself but not been able to locate one either.
-
These are cad cut , No printer. Purchased a OKI 5600 but even the new WOW material from the magic touch failed to keep out the bleed through, So everything cad cut, I think I need to have something along the full solvent if I’m to do print and cut with these shirts.
-
Finally able to get a product to work as I need it ,Have tried samples from every supplier I could. Need a little advice on my next step but, The settings I’m supposed to use where 160 degrees for 20seconds at medium pressure, so I had to reduce to 145degrees for 15 seconds. At the recommended settings it was terrible but as like the picture its almost correct when i used my own settings, When I layered the first layer white down and removed the carrier it had zero bleed, perfect , then when I added the second layer for same 15 seconds I got bleed from the black of the shirt, not heavily noticeable but I can see it up close. Any ideas ? Keep reducing the heat further?
Will this affect the strength of the transfer using less heat? All corners seem good.

-
Here is some better results with Super flex ( xpres ) good for polo shirts so far.
The other shirts is the material I’m trying to track down, its so heavy that there will be no bleed through as its like rubber, its unlike any of the transfer samples i have received so far, Anyone any suggestions, its layered.
-
Exactly what i needed , 3 shirts to do within next 2 hours , will let you see the end results.
-
thanks, using corel x3 so maybe eps or ai , think i can open both, thanks rush t shirt job today for a guy moving to Australia:)
-
Will take a photo of it tomorrow to let you see, thanks once again for your input, oh by the way I ordered a c5600 oki printer, will get a R1800 then after.
-
Yeah the stuff is like plastic , but it is diff cut as you can feel the layers.
-
Went for my lunch at work and must have pressed refresh and it reloaded 😛 , Not sure on the shirts but if you were to do a google on motocross shirt printing there is loads in England doing it , not so many near me, The shirts I have done a couple of years ago by local companies are maybe 8/ 10 times thicker than super flex or ultra flex, they actually could stand up on there own :lol1:
