Here you go Shane. I would submit it if I was you, $100-300 if they use it, which they will.
Maybe I will be reading it next time I am in the waiting room at my dentists office.

I just "laminated" something really quick with some clear vinyl we had here. Works great with Rapid Tack. I’ll be ordering a roll of laminating material on Monday.

Some fonts are worth paying for in my opinion (letterheadfonts.com). Some people put in a lot of effort to make something that will make us money so I think they should charge for the use of it.
That being said, I like free stuff too. 😀

Do you have "dirty jobs" yet? That’s a funny show, the host, Mike Rowe, goes to different jobs and works for the day. Things like trash man, coal miner, anything dirty. He’s funny and usually the people he works with are wild. The guys that fix the bricks in the old sewer systems under some major cities are the best.

There is a show over here called "Mythbusters" on the discover channel. They dispell, or prove urban myths. They showed that a penny could not puncture the skin from any height, it just doesn’t have the mass. I wouldn’t want to test one on my head though.

    A cadet is a re-branded Versacamm, right?
If so, it would work as a plotter. I use ours all the time. It does cut a lot slower than our other plotter though, but if you are not in a rush then it works just fine.

I wouldn’t know where to begin, but I know it’s a long process. Not only do you have to make all the characters, then you have to adjust the kerning for certain groups of characters, then you have all the symbols that go with it. Then when you finally finish it and try to market it, someone gets a hold of it and posts it for all to use. (:)

It’s only 9am here so I have not been up long. I checked the waves, but it’s small and crowded so no surfing today. I’m just checking emails and then I have to go hang Christmas lights or my neighbors will shun me from the neighborhood. They really take christmas decorating serious around here. 😀
San Diego Chargers vs. Oakland Raiders comes on in about 3 hours so the rest of the day I will be watching that and having a beer or two, or three…..

We still have our Gerber Edge along with our new VersaCamm. I can not honestly remember the last time I turned on the Gerber. Only use it for the odd spot color or printing clings with a white background.
Someone recently sold their edge for $1000 here in the states after getting an inkjet. This should tell us something.

    Rob,
I totally get what you are saying. Is Morrison’s a grocery store? I think I went to one in Sommerset last time I was there.
Now is the truck part of their design or just the trailer? Is their logo just the "M" part? If this is just the logo (No googling here) then by itself I don’t think it’s much different than a lot of other corporations. It’s not great, but it’s not total crap either. Sometimes it isn’t how fantastic it is, it’s how well you remember it.

    That’s true Andy.
Also, most of the biggest firms have a very simple logo. FedEx is a good example. It’s really simple text, but you recognize it. I guess when you have brand recognition, the beauty of it doesn’t matter as much. Smaller firms might need a nicer logo to attract the customers in the first place.

Maybe it would be more productive to post a bad example along with your version of what it should look like.
Personally, I don’t think it’s a very tastefull post. What if someone that has designed for one of these companies is a visitor/member to this site? I would feel pretty crappy if someone was posting my work on here just to tear it apart and point fingers at it.
    That’s just my opinion though.

Only from the waist up. 😳
I’m a little darker now than in this picture though. One week in Hawaii made me a little more brown.

    That’s right Lynn and Robert,
I went back and looked at his demo he did after posting that. The spelling is different. 😀
I must have missed the post about him going back to just doing the bar stuff, but I figured that was what he did in the end.

    Hi Ian,
    Welcome!
I think there used to be another Ian Gordon that came around here. I could be wrong though, wouldn’t be the first time.

It looks like the Harley Davidson shield. You could probably find it on Brandsoftheworld.com. Be warned though, I know HD goes after anyone using their logo, even just part of it. BTW, I would just re-draw that, it doesn’t look too complex.

I saw a really cool shooting star the other night. My girlfriend saw it too. It was glowing green like Kryptonite and looked like it was close.

I’ve never had to start over again when replacing an ink cartridge. It does pop up a warning on my Rip (versaworks) that says printing was paused and I have to hit that for it to continue.

In Versaworks, double click on the little picture of the printer in the top left corner of the screen. It should have ink levels on there somewhere, (don’t have the program open in front of me).
I never check personally, I always have enough ink in stock so it doesn’t matter if one is low.

Don’t worry Shane, Peter was just being Peter and Dave was trying to be a moderator again. 😉
It is refreshing to see someone that is actually pleased with a product and praising it. It’s a rare thing in this day and age.
Everyone is quick to tell us how horrible something is, but not so quick to let us know how good it is.
Thanks for your input Shane. It has really helped me out on my decision on laminators. I appreciate it.

If you are using the Versaworks Rip it is basically the same. Name a new color "CutContour", make it a spot color, .25 pt line weight and save as an .eps.
It will show up as dancing ants in your rip when you go to settings.
