    48 Years married today….

…what do you buy a couple that have been married that long?

The wife and I took them and my sister out to a bang up meal… cost me an absolute fortune mind you, but I figure I probably cost them a fortune in my youth, so I suppose we are even :lol1:

(In 2 years time it will be their 50th and our 25th. They’ve already started planning the party… 😮 )

We bought them an outdoor dinner setting for the BBQ, and my sister bought them an ice cream maker. I love my sister :lol1:

You are lucky to have both folks with you so long, Shane.
Congratulations to the happy couple, and let’s hope they have many more days to celebrate.

Wish them all the best from us Shaney.
48 years, blimey! She must be a saint to put up with any bloke that long, you know what we’re like. 🙂

Buy them both a joint pressie, like a Harley Davidson. Go on.

PS I found out I had an anniversary today, 15 years since I got my driving licence. I only found out because the copper noticed the date when he was booking me for driving down a bus lane. Oops.

Thanks Friends, I’ll pass your comments on to mum and dad.

Jill, I know what you say. When I nearly lost dad in 01 (we had the funeral arranged) and he was in hospital for 2 months, I nearly gave this whole game away. I’ve worked with mum and dad, almost constantly, for over 31 years. We are a very close family, and they treat my wife like their own daughter too, one big happy family. Don’t know what I’ll do if/when I lose them. Not worth thinking about really 😕

The Drew woman all lived very long lives, but the Drew men all died relatively young. Even dads little brother died at 53. I’m hoping that dad and I buck the trend! :lol1:

Andy, mum reckons she would have got less time for murder. The way she sees it, shes done two life terms 😮

Martin, My wife, sister and mum are already talking about getting it catered. I think it is going to be BIG. 😀 Should be something the neighbours will talk about for a while anyways. :lol1:

    Cheers all

Wow! I can only hope to live 48 years, let alone be with someone that long.
    Congrats!
