I have sorted the lights and picking them up tomorrow
I got 7 units of 4 x 36w 6500k daylight bulbs. Each unit is 1200mm x 600mm.
Ive gone from having 6 x 58w yellow ish bulbs to 28 x daylight bulbs.
Its going to glow (not to bright i hope) other wise ill have to start removing some bulbs.
Cheers for the advice Adam

MemberJanuary 23, 2013 at 12:21 pm in reply to: Suppliers to have this logo made and illuminatedAfternoon all
I’ve had a quote for the logo. They have quoted for it to be made of stainless and powder coated. Price is 1247 plus VAT. Then I have still got to sort out a sign tray to put it on.
Over all the sign tray will be 1200mm x 600mm
Is there any other way of making these letters maybe out of acrylic and still illuminating it.
Cheers all

I don’t understand. At the moment no matter what profile I use the print is still the same, very dark. I have only had this problem since buying the macs. It has had this error message Since I bought them. So how am I using 2sets of colour management and how can I stop using the other one.

Hi Ben
I’ve never bought any cleaning fluid from the big manufactures. I just use hot soapy water rinsed off well and then panel wipe for a degreaser. Been using it for years no problem.

Thanks for the replies. It’s not proper dibond it’s Amari’s equivalent. How can I find out if its ok for sign trays and how do you know if the cuts deep enough or not.
Also I’m using a 90 degree router bit, should it have a flat on the tip. Thanks in advance Adam

MemberJuly 21, 2012 at 4:04 pm in reply to: Views on a home made Vinyl Media Application table?Dave just put threaded feet on the table. Then when you have it in the perfect working position you can level it perfectly by winding them up and down. Job done. It’s quite easy construction. Once I get a min I’ll upload my drawing of what I want. I’ve designed my own roller system that’s much easier than any existing models

MemberJuly 20, 2012 at 9:48 pm in reply to: Views on a home made Vinyl Media Application table?Dave. Bought the 2 rollers for £300. I think I’ll sell one if any ones interested. £150. I’m going to get some drawings up together. Once finished I’ll upload them for you all to see. I’m looking forward to starting it. It should save a lot of time once finished

MemberJuly 19, 2012 at 8:24 pm in reply to: Views on a home made Vinyl Media Application table? The table is the dearest bit. The arm, rails, roller and pneumatics about £700 give or take all the little bits
-
Adam Hilson
MemberJuly 19, 2012 at 8:22 pm in reply to: Views on a home made Vinyl Media Application table? It is Dave but for the time it will save. I’ve just bought the roller 1300mm £300
Now I can start drawing the table up. Say 2" box frame with 2" x 1" internal frame to support the frame £220 materials. Legs 4 on each side with screw feet for levelling. Glass 10mm toughened £600 sandblasted to disperse the lights. Alu sheet to fit under the table on hinges with 2 x 1200mm strip light for each table section £200. On hinges so it can be hinged on one side to change the bulbs. C section rails on each side for the bearings to sit for the carriage £60. That’s the table. Maybe a few little bits I’ve missedThen the arm
Bearings x12. 6 each side. They sit in 2 rows. 3 top and 3 bottom in the c section. This allows the weight bearing down on the bottom 3 and the roller when pressured down to bear on the upper bearings. Some 3" x 2" box for the carrage that the bearings are fixed. Then 2 peices for the sides and 2 for the cross beams. £90. Then the roller. Bearing on each side that fits in a slot to allow for it to go up and down with no movement forward or backwards. Twin cylinder air rams £90 fixed to the underneath of the arm and the bearing plate. Some switches, pipe, joints £150. Oh and a compressor. But everyone’s to one.
What have I missed

I have a Rocky myself. I have found it a very good printer with superb color but i don’t have enough work to put through it to keep it going.
When i tried using it through flexi i had no luck, the colors were crap, Then i thought i would take the time to learn the onxy rip and the colours were unbelievable, There superbe. May be you should try outputting through another program/Rip.Adam

MemberJanuary 14, 2008 at 4:18 pm in reply to: why does rockhopper keep printing green tint on all imagery?Chris Wool:
I tried a profile which has worked no problem before, and this did make the tint less obvious, but the tint is still there.
As the tint is green, am I right in thinking its the C and Y colours that are out of balance ?The colours look perfect in PS, its only on the print itself when the tint appears.
Interesting point though, I would of thought the printer would use K for the entire K line?
Lorraine Burke:
The tint appears on all prints. An image I tried last night was most noticealbe as the image was supposed to be Black & White, but where the Black became lighter and where White should of been present, there was a definate colour tint.
I shall try to get some pictures up to show whats happening.

MemberJanuary 14, 2008 at 12:13 am in reply to: why does rockhopper keep printing green tint on all imagery?Just an update:
I’ve just carried out a test print. I made 4 bars in Photoshop, each bar being either K, C, Y or M. The bar would be a gradual fade from 100% to 0% of each colour.
It all started out fine, but as the colours started to get closer to 0%, there was a noticable amount of green tint appearing (the most noticable colour was K).I carried out a similar test earlier with a JPEG file (saved as CMYK in Photoshop) and the C line had a tint of green to it … the latest test was saved as an EPS file and the C line was almost completely C 🙂
Edit
The green tint starts to appear when each colour gets around 50%, any lower than this and the green becomes more and more visible.
On the K line, it’s very bizzare because why is the printer printing a green tint when the line should be Black to White (therefore grey in the middle) … but in this instance, its Black – Dark Grey – Light Green – Small amount of White -

MemberJanuary 13, 2008 at 10:23 pm in reply to: why does rockhopper keep printing green tint on all imagery?Hi Lorraine,
I thought the change in media type had fixed the tint, but I dont think it has.
I tried an image converting to CMYK in Photoshop, but its still doing it.The tint problem is annoying itself, but the way it keeps happening after fixing it is the main grief I’m getting.
Thanks,
Adam H -

MemberJanuary 13, 2008 at 1:54 am in reply to: why does rockhopper keep printing green tint on all imagery?Hi Lorraine,
Thanks for the reply, I’ll give that a go. Does the image have to be saved as a PSD for the CMYK to register? Or will JPEG do?
I think I have got around the current image by changing the media type in Onyx, it looks a lot less green but there’s still a sepia look to the printed image.
