  • Acrylic Built Up Letters – advice needed, please?

    Afternoon all

Im just about to start this job where I’m going to make acrylic built up letters with 50mm returns.

What i would like to know if people on here rebate the edge for the return to sit in or leave the face flat and stick the returns straight on to them.

And whats the best quickest drying glue to use ( Super glue with spray activator) Will it last in the sun

    Thanks in advance Adam

Hi Adam, we do built up acrylic letters at work and we glue the return directly to the flat face of the acrylic letter, no rebate and we use Tensil12 adhesive which has a chemical reaction and causes the two surfaces to chemically melt together.

    Hope that helps?

    Evening Stephen

Thanks for your reply. Excellent news. I have made them before but I rebates the edge for the return. I was hoping I could stick the returns straight in. Great. The tensil 12. Is that ok for outdoors or only indoors.

    Cheers Adam
