    Hi All,
I was just going through the Triumph logos and noticed that the one i have is the same as these (T175), but I’m not sure its supposed to lean down on the right. Does anyone have a straight one in this version?

    Thanks Derek,
I’ve since spoken to the customer and asked them to consider this type of flag instead and i nearly have approval from them,
This will be easier for me at least to digitize for embroidery.

I typically send 800mm x 500mm graphics through the post and use 2 sheets of single ply cardboard as a very large envelope. It will then go by Royal mail standard parcels or if its less than 660mm it will go first class. At least it’s kept flat as I only used the tube method once for this size but the graphic puckered up when it arrived with the customer (100mm dia tube).
I get them from here and add the cost on to the job.

Very good reply Shane, I totally understand your point and views.

The reality is that we will never totally know the truth and the silence from official sources will always fuel more conspiracy.
I’m not really concerned about the theories regarding the Illuminati, the Bilderberg Group, the Freemasons, and all the secret societies etc as they can’t be proved either way.
I’m also not talking about the past conspiracies that live on to this day, (Moon landing, Diana Crash, Dr Kelly, July 7th) as in my view that’s all they are, they can’t seemed to be proved.

I’m more interested about the actual anomalies on that day and in the subsequent 9/11 commission report and find it very interesting that the media hasn’t reported on or wants to rock the boat in any of these.

    Let’s stick to basics,

The Towers were designed to take multiple plane hits, this is fact and not conspiracy
The Towers had 47 off 3 foot wide central columns, the towers were not hollow and the impact area only damaged a small surrounding area of the column.
Jet Fuel does not burn hot enough to melt, let alone weaken the amount of steel involved, this is fact.
Fire-fighters and survivors have testified (under oath) that there where numerous explosions going off in the buildings well before the collapse. Actual footage also shows this at the bases of the each tower before any collapse.
Molten metal in the ruins for weeks afterwards. NASA has released satellite imagery showing these very high temperatures in the footprints of the buildings that cannot be linked to standard fire damage.
13 of the 19 hijackers have been confirmed to still be alive, yet the official story by the FBI still insists the old information is correct
The Madrid skyscraper fire, 3-4 years ago burned for over 24 hours (that was a proper fire!!), the building never collapsed.

Actual photographs of the remaining central core columns that have been cut at approx 45 degree angle, the same procedure used in control demolition to cut columns so they slide apart, this is fact.

The towers and building 7 came down in nearly freefall speed, this is scientifically impossible with all the cross section of steel and columns involved, unless the resistance from each floor below was removed (i.e. controlled demolition), this has been studied by a number of professors post 911.

The plane impact zone at the Pentagon is totally inconsistence with an actual plane crashing in to the building, there’s no real wreckage, no real footage (apart from 5 frames of stills from a camera) that doesn’t show any plane going in.
184 people identified out of 189 yet the plane was pulverised due to the extreme impact. (This is the official explanation)
You would of thought that probably the most secure place in the US would have plenty of footage showing the days events (if they really wanted to show it), all the film from the surrounding cameras was seized promptly by the FBI and never released.

Flight 93 that crashed in Shanksville, again no real wreckage or bodies. You only have to look at other air crashes to see that what’s normally left is plenty.

I know, and expect a slating by a few on here with lots of disagreements but I believe that most of the people that have studied this subject in depth only want to have these questions and plenty of others answered.
I don’t think this is the case that people will always look for an alternative answer and will never accept the official story as true, this is about the numerous valid questions regarding the anomalies in the official story that haven’t been answered at all to this day. I think we owe it to all the people that lost their lives on that day.

    That’s all, I’ll carry on listening…

A conspiracy theory is just a theory unless you can prove it, most of the family members that were directly effected have declined compensation from the US government and are behind finding out the truth. Just look for yourself at the original footage, it just doesn’t make sense.

You only need to look into false-flag terrorism to get a insight into the workings of this world. Just ask the questions yourself rather than take the easy option and get it from the media, they will not tell you or even ask the questions that reveal the truth.
It’s only because the Internet is still fairly free that you can still share your views over a wide audience. All the time your liberty and freedom is being eroded away by the very people we all elected to serve us.
Where i live we have camera’s watching speed cams due to criminal damage, we’ll soon have talking cams everywhere when you drop litter or do something that doesn’t fit in. You can’t protest near the Houses of Parliament otherwise you will be arrested under the new terrorism act.
Luckily people are waking up and smelling a rat, if enough people did so then their game would be over. Don’t wait for the 30 year De-classification rule before the truth comes out.
Welcome to Big Brother, it’s here to stay.

    Hugh,
You should find the answers to your questions by searching the subjects in my post. There is so much information out there that IS NOT reported to us to this day by the media. I’m not saying you will believe it all just as i don’t. A subject like this will always attract conspiracy nuts that enter into the argument. All is required is a bit of rational thinking, that’s all and then make your own mind up.

Going back to the 9/11 subject most people have their own views on what happened back then, probably based on the coverage by the media in this country. Unfortunately since then there seems to have been a 9/11 media blackout regarding this matter. It became apparent to me that the BBC and the other news agencies in this country had no intention in investigating the official 9/11 story and do what most Scholars, Dr’s, and Scientists have been doing since that day and look at the obvious events surrounding that day.
To this day the BBC and others refuse to ask even the simplest of questions, which leaves it down to the general public to voice their opinions and force the issue back in to the news.

For the past 1 or so years I’ve been doing my own research and asking my own questions, as I like many out there will not be taken for a fool and take the “official story” as true. I don’t think I can be classed for a conspiracy nut but I would like to think that there must be logical explanation to most things as you only need look at the footage regarding the day’s events and realise that there’s something not quite right here.

You only have to look a little deeper and use a little common sense to understand that the official line would insult the intelligence of a 5 year old and yet here we are still fighting two illegal wars that stemmed from the events on that day. The only WMD’s that the Bush administration has found are the ones they are using themselves on innocent people over there.

To summarise on key points surrounding that day, and also to this day

The towers had explosions going off well before they collapsed
They came down in nearly freefall speed (which would indicate no resistance from the floor below),
The official story relies on the pancake theory as one floor fell on to the one below.

More or less the exact terror drill exercises were being carried out on the days leading up to 9/11. (London bombings on 7/7/2005 had the same scenario drills on the morning of 7/7)

Building 7 came down at approx 5.20pm that day but suffered no plane impact or major damage from the Twin Towers collapse.

There is no real wreckage from the Pentagon crash.
Or the Shanksville (Flight 93) crash

There is no real evidence linking Osama Bin Laden to the attacks, look at the FBI’s own website under most wanted and you’ll see that he’s not wanted regarding the attacks.

The BBC reported on that day the building 7 collapse 15mins before it actually did, and since that the BBC say they have lost all the original footage on 9/11 “due to cock-up” and not conspiracy.

To show you how censored the news agencies are in this country, conduct a search on the Sky News website for anything relating to 9/11 and you will not find much.

To find out more I could link to numerous videos, documentaries, speeches and papers so you could educate yourselves but it would be easier to name the items and persons to look for and see for yourselves.
Its about time most people woke up, came out of their little worlds they live in and looked at the bigger picture.
I understand that not everyone will listen and take what I’m saying is true but all I ask is to look and decide for yourselves (as I think from the replies in the early posts in this thread most of you done anyway)

    Cath,
The only way I’ve found to print these colours (or any other spot colour) is to use the uniform colour palette in coreldraw and select individual spot colours cartridge in the PC60 printing preferences. I haven’t yet found a way in printing gold or silver this way (by choosing the gold or silver colour from the palette in the design but all i do is change the bar code sticker to a black (no12) on the silver or gold ribbon and print that way.
If anyone would like to share their own way of do it (hopefully better and easier), i too would like to know :bigwink:

For single colour (ie 100% black fill) work just change the sticker to a no12 (black) and select "print in greyscale"
    Hope this helps,

    Alex.

I must admit I’m impressed with the auto settings in drawings std as the only main adjustments you need to make is to choose the fabric from the list and it calculates all the settings for you. I find that on small text (5mm high letters etc) it sometimes struggles to convert to stitches cleanly but normally you can add some extra nodes to the design and it recalculates the stitches well.
For a beginner that hasn’t the time to mess around digitizing it has to be a winner.
I’ll post some pics to show the finished stitched logo from a vector file.

£450 odd on eBay and that includes the full Corel X3 graphics suite, all CD’s/ Books and dongle.

    Can’t be bad.

    Probably,
Corel Drawings STD wont add trims (or at least i cant find how to do it!),
In wings modular (part of drawings) i save a design in .DST and select normal tajima .DST format and setting 3 or 4 on the jump stitch bar and it trims between letters on text no problems. (just like using the built in fonts for text)

    hope this helps,

    Byron,
I wish Drawings Pro was the min requirement as it would save a bit of time in editing stitch file regarding the stitch widths/ compensation settings etc. Sometimes i find that it sets it with too many stitches so i set a slightly smaller vector file, convert to stitches and then resize it to the required dimensions but keep the same amount of stitches. Drawings is good if you are used to corel as it makes the step into embroidery digitizing that bit easier, I would like to try the others like widcom etc but cant justify the £3000 price tag or so for it. Drawings is well worth it if you can get it cheap (from USA), you also get the coreldraw x3 graphics suite
with it and with all the CD’s and books.

Yes Drawings is Ok if you are used to using CorelDraw, Once you have your CMX file you just flick over to the stitch part of corel and it converts the file to stitches. If the stitches are not quite right you adjust the vector file so that it recalculates the stitches until you are happy with it.
The basic version of drawings comes with a stitch editing program (wings modular) and also a dongle.
I use Drawings most of the time, but for really complicated stuff i sub the design out for digitizing.
I looked at all the other software in the £700-£1000 price range that was out there but drawings did it for me as i’m used to using corel so it was fairly easy to understand. Unless you are running loads of machines then i think there’s no point in getting the pro version or even the more powerful Widcom ES software.
By the way i think PE design is overrated and overpriced as well.

    Hi Vivienne,
Thanks for the info, it’s greatly appreciated and I’m sure it will save me time on some jobs in the very near future.
I’ve a Brother PR600II at the moment, the work seems to have gone mad for personalised gear at the moment which is great for business. I agreed that its a steep learning process but worth it when mastered. Once you have the cleaned graphic file (eps etc) its another tedious stage on top of that converting the file to stitches.

    David,
I use a ebayer for most of my digitizing requirements, when i haven’t the time to mess with it using Drawings X3. Search for Embroidery Digitizing Service, it’s very reasonably priced at £1.49 per 1000 stitches and very quick turnaround and will save in most formats. They are registered in Bulgaria.
I’ve have no trouble with it and the finished design stitches out great.

    Harry,
I had the same problem when I upgraded to Corel X3 from Corel 9. I received a disc from Graphtec with the latest X3 plugin for the machine although I imagine they are now shipped with this new one now. If it’s the latest one then it should add the rocket (launcher) icon along the top command bar or allow you too add it manually as Jeremy Howes mentions in his reply, also you need to change the language on the cutter from HPGL which was ok for previous versions of corel to GPGL. How to get there on the menus and change it is in the manual.

    Baron,
I would say it’s down to your blade offset, if its correct when you put the pen in then the offset is probably set as 0 as the ball point of the pen is in the middle. The blades cut by dragging and when they reach a radius or corner they need a offset from the central point in order to turn and cut cleanly (Just like the offset on a castor wheel on a supermarket trolley). I get the same results when i forget to change back my offset settings on the cutter from the pen offset when i cut vinyl. There must be some settings on the rabbit for this or at least in the software.
    Hope this helps,

How did i know you were going to say that, your right in what you say. I’m lucky that i can stay back at base and not go to the track as i’ve been in the business for 20 years and know how many time t***er’s are in the paddock waiting to mess you around and talk B****cks, i just didn’t want to sound too negative. When we have young lads starting in our company the track support side of things shine at them but normally after a year or two supporting at the track they give up and want to stay back at base, the shine wore off for me a while a long time ago.

The company that supports all the A1GP races for the vinyl side of things, in my opinion are always one of the first there and always one of the last to leave the track and while they are there they never stop (crazy)! What a great job, if I get time ill might have a look around it at monza and see how the professionals do it, something that ill probably never be able to master and just stick to cutting and fitting stickers. The company I work for have 2 of our customer cars in at Monza this weekend. I’m sure you’ll have a great time at lemans this year, I might see you there. If you’ve never been it’s a real eye opener and long hours are well worth it in return for the lemans buzz /atmosphere etc.

I’ll give that a go, trouble with it is, while you’re still learing the machine you sometimes get lost in what you have changed in the settings and end up going round in circles. Im sure its not the machine but more to do with my little knowledge i have with this machine. I could do with a basic print/cut setting guide in corel so i can cross reference it to what i have and do.
Im sure i’ll get there in the end.

Ok, I’ve looked at the advanced printer settings but couldn’t find anything obvious; I have a simple 2 colour design in Corel with a boundary/outline in black or yellow. If I try and print and cut this it will print the blue, then pick up the red and print the red and then stops there with the red still in the holder with the head retracted away from the vinyl and with no flashing lights or busy lights on. Now it should at this point put the red back and go back and finish the cutting off, but it doesn’t.
If I change all the colours in the design for black and change the outline in the design to yellow it will print in black, put the ribbon back and then cut like it should. I don’t know if I’ve the latest XP PC60 printer driver or is it something stupid that I’m not doing or setting in the printer properties before I hit print.
I’ve tried to enclose some screen shots of my settings but i cant so here is the list

    Paper Output : = 24” x 33”
Cutting: What to cut: = By colour
    Select colour: = Yellow
    Cutting speed : = 20cms

    OutPut data:
    Printing: = ON
    Cutting: = ON
    Formfeed: = ON

Process Cartridge: = No process CR-MR(Resin)
Cartridge for greyscale: = Greyed out
    BackPrint: = Off

    Special
    Red Cartridge: = RED
    Green: = OFF
    Blue: = BLUE
    Yellow: = OFF
    Black: = OFF
    White: = OFF
    Gold: = OFF
    Silver: = OFF

    UCR: =Spot colour

    Metafile Spooling: OFF

By the way it prints and cuts fine in CMYK mode.

No I think it might be software related as it goes back to the base point with the spot colour ribbon picked up but then just stops there. The busy light is off and it looks as if the machine has finished what its doing, i’ve waited a bit but nothing happens. Like I mentioned before it will print a number of spot colours but will not cut after, or it will only print one spot colour only if I choose a gold or silver in the design.
It’s nothing major but it’s it’ll be interesting to see what causing it but I’m sure over time I’ll sort it.
The machine prints and cuts fine other than that.

    Thanks for the replies,

I have the PDF’s that you mention but the more i looked at them the more brain fade i had. I started with a cleared head tonight and it looks like all it was i wasnt disabling the black pen output (as i have black in the design) and also not setting the layout properties in the printer options. It still did a few silly things but i just made sure i checked the settings every time i go to cut and it seems consistent.
Hopefully it is sorted now and thanks for you help again,

    Hi Alan,
Yes i know exactly what you mean as i race 125 gearbox on and off for the last 12 years (4 years at national level). I still have one and do the odd meetings per year but really just for fun now, it seems more enjoyable this way as theres no pressure to win as much. My mates race 250 single but i never really fancied going into 250 as im a lightweight and would have to carry so much ballast we wouldnt be able to pick the kart up onto its stand.

Thanks for the replies, just another question. How does the gerber compare in running costs with the pc-60. I take it that i can contour cut on another cutter with opos sensor (ce3000-mk2) if i print reg marks with the gerber. How much would i expect to pay for a secondhand gerber 2 or FX?
I mainly get asked for small runs of printed stickers which i dont mind subbing out but i would save a bit of hassle if i could do them myself.

    Thanks in advance

I’ve managed to answer my own question and for now its not possible to use the quickcut plugin that came with the CE3000 MK2 for Coreldraw X3. So its back to ver 12 for now until graphtec write an updated plugin for X3.

Thanks for looking, i have the logo converted to curves and slight changes to some letters but my customer requires extra lettering down the side of a truck in the same typeface. I will see if i can get away with a bold clarendon as i think the only noticable change is the lowercase T flick up dosen’t come up as much.

    Thanks

Partners the stationers have A2 in buy one get one free at @ £7.99 each. You can always trim them and join them up at that price. They are heavy duty and 3 layer.

Did you highlight the nodes in the design before going to the node menu, the curtail option wont be highlighted unless you select them. (drag a square around the nodes you wish to reduce)

I had the same problem as have others with the pcut and artcut. It seems to be on Win XP only. I managed to hopefully solve it on my machine by the doing the following.
In Window device manager go to com ports and then select properties for the com port you are using. Enable flow control as HARDWARE. Then in Art cut on the cut plot section, change the device from Put 630 CTN to DMPL by clicking on the device button, then on the drop down list choose others in lowercase, then on the right should be DMPL and then click add and it should add it to the list of installed devices below. which you need add on to the list. Back in the “set Engravers/Routers Output” window make sure the link to is set to the correct port and then click setup on the right. I always found that the port was always grayed out and I had to select the correct port before every cut I did. Sequential control should be the following, DTR/DSR (Ticked), XON/XOFF (NOT Ticked), RTS/CTS (Ticked). The next tab (Plotter Compensation) should be, Close (Unchecked), Sharp angle (Ticked) & set to 0.5mm which is the blade offset I think, Plotting accuracy = Middle, Delay = 0ms. The rest of the set up shouldn’t make any difference. With these settings on mine I managed to cut all of the jobs I had problems with, also if you can remove any unwanted nodes in your design before you cut by selecting nodes and then to Node Edit and then Curtail. This will reduce the amount of unnecessary data going to the cutter and slowing it up.

I take it that you have the blade holder in the hole above the cutting strip and not the one closest to you when you face the machine. i still don’t know why they put two holes in on the head? Like previously mentioned check for play on the rails and also if you take of the plastic cover on the head you will expose the levers for the plunger etc, it’s not really advanced in there so don’t worry, when you look at it there might be something in there thats not quite right or catching on one or the arms.

I still think that it’s either the travel in your cutting head or that vinyl as it obviously out according to your paper measuring test but i think the cutting head should compensate for that with giving it more travel or less travel. The machine measures the pressure from the “push off” it gets when in contact with the vinyl and not blade travel, so if the blade has to travel further then it doesn’t matter as long as you have it. make sure you can move the head up and down at least 5mm and that you’ve got more travel left after it hits the vinyl.

I sometimes had this problem when i had a pcut. I used to use the same vinyl as you, bought from a supllier on ebay. The trouble i had was that the vinyl came so tightly coiled that as it when through the cutter and past the cutting blade it pushed off the cutting strip in the middle and somtimes on one of the ends as it went in and out. Once the vinyl comes off the strip i think it looses it’s vacuum as the fan tends to pull the vinyl down to the strip so you get a uniform cut. The carriage’s would have to be miles out for it to miss on the ends as the pressure is controlled by the electro mag plunger inside the head. Make sure that you have more than enough travel (up/down) on the blade. I normally set a 3-4mm gap between the blade holder and the vinyl and adjust your blade in the holder as per instructions on this thread and NOT as per in the creation manual. Try some other vinyl as well but all said and done it could be a dicky machine.

December 27, 2005 at 3:21 pm in reply to: Does anyone a disc that will import vehicle outlines?

I use corel draw to import eps/ ai files into and then once i’m happy with the sizing then i export them from there into a hpgl (.plt) file format, thats the one artcut seems to like very well. Open up artcut and choose import, change selection for file types so it browses for a .plt file and browse for your .plt file that you exported in signlab. one thing i noticed is that i had to export a quite big size as when you import it in artcut it places the file on the top left page border and you have to zoom right in to find it and drag the corner of it to make it bigger. Flexi will let you do this so i’m sure signlab will let you do this as well. i think thats the best way unless cadlink will write you a special driver for that cutter. i couldn’t get flexi or signlab make the cutter cut even with the standard hpgl or dmpl drivers that came with the software. I think that these chinese cutters only like artcut software.

Are you running a usb 2 serial lead or is the usb version cutter. if it’s the usb 2 serial lead then check in device manager that you’ve set the usb lead to com 1 or 2 ( should be listed under com ports) as artcut only cuts using com1 & 2 ports. I ran a usb2serial lead and had to change this as it set it up on com 4 automatically.

I re-installed Artcut 2005 a number of times and when when you run the artcut program for the first time it should ask you for the graphic disc (which contains the code for the machine). make sure that you have autorun selected on your CDrom drive so it can autoload this code in. I pretty sure that if you’ve never been asked to put this disc in then that might be the problem.

December 4, 2005 at 7:24 pm in reply to: why does plotter cut diagonal lines across vinyl?

    Another update,
after having xon/off selected and the using the standard dmpl driver that’s in the “other device” list i still randomly had the problem. I have changed all my settings and now running with hardware checked (Not Xon/Xoff) in windows control panel and DTR/DSR & RTS/CTS both checked, but unchecked xon/xoff in my cut/plot settings in artcut. I also have to select the com port everytime before i cut in the cut/plot menu as it stays greyed out otherwise. Another thing that seems to have helped is to remove unwanted nodes in the design (select nodes & go to nodeedit, curtail) this will speed up the cutting process and data transfer. With all these settings i’ve managed to cut all of the jobs that have been a problem in the past. i just hope it stays this way. It’s either a firmware problem in the cutter or more likely a software issue with Artcut and XP, maybe if enough people highlight the problem then wentai, the people who wrote the software can maybe bring out a software patch for XP users.

I’ve been playing around with the com port settings but my problem seems to be random. i’ve mostly had the cutter stopping in the middle of a 610 wide, 1 metre long vinyl cut mostly filled with 60-80mm high letters.
I have xon/xoff checked in the com port settings in device manager and also in the cut/plot menu in artcut but that didn’t seem to make any difference. Tonight i used the standard DMPL driver in the artcut device list with xon/xoff checked and it seemed to cut with those settings no problem apart from hesitating a few times towards the end of the cutting job. My cut speed might have been a tad high at 60 as the cutter seemed to be waiting for data (only millisecs). I will keep using this until i get a problem then i will post back with the bad news that it’s still not sorted !! 👿
System is Win XP Pro 1gb ram SP1 and the standard serial lead that came with the pcut630 with a maplin 2 foot extension serial lead.

My Pcut 630 has started cutting lines across the work as mentioned in this thread. I recently cleaned installed XP and now the problem, mainly on large jobs. I’ve enabled the xon / xoff on com port settings in control panel but it still does it. i was just wondering if anyone has all the settings so i can compare what is set on my PC and also in the artcut settings to what it should be as it worked fine before the clean install. I’m running a usb2 to serial convertor and this ran fine before the install.

Hope someone can help as i’ve got a large job on soon and need to try and get it sorted.

    Thanks
