    Hi Everyone,
i’ve searched the help files in corel12 and also these boards but i can’t find for the life of me how to auto reduce excess nodes around objects in Coreldraw12. I had Coreldraw8 and that had it but i can’t find it in corel12. Am i missing something?

Any help would be great please..

    Alex.

its there… while you have several nodes selected, on the tool bar you will see a slider, move this from 0 to say 50% slide, they then smooth.

I also remember the “auto” thing… it was dumped in favour of the slider method

Not totally dumped Dave, you can add it to your top bar. Tools – customisation – commands – edit (from drop down) – auto reduce icon, drag this to top bar. Many, including me feel this can be a better way of reducing nodes ie less distructive to original shape, but a combination of the two should give the result.

    Many thanks.

I’ve been using the slider for ages now and you’re right – it’s quite destructive. The auto reduce icon is wow! A big gold star for you from me. 🙂

Node reduction has also been improved in X3, it may not be a whistle and bang thing but it is amongst the improvemnts.
