Got to admit when i was a wee lad ( well 2 months ago ) i was only applying wet, then i had a few days work up in scotland with McRod who had a quick refresher with me applying dry. (it’s amazing how much you forget after your first weeks tuition). Anyway after he pushed away my fears of applying dry and reminded me on how vinyl reacts in general , i can now say that 90% of my work is now applied dry.

I learnt that if you take your time (it’s not a race) and think things through it normaly turns out great.
When i finsih my van i’ll post pics and i have a couple of others to post too. All done dry, now to the old hands here probably not a lot to it, but with a newbie like me who only ever applied dry, well i like it 😀

Now i am on the look out for

    1. Inflatable Blow up sheep
2 Braces with sheep on them
3 a longbow ( something to do with a old english law which alows you to shoot a welsh man on a certain sunday in a certain church. that is still leagal)
4 any realy good welsh jokes that would go well at a wedding

John i saw the machine and me and Phill got caught up in a 45 minute ( yes 45 Minute) sales pitch on the agency.

Yes it looks great , easy to use and seem’d it could be profitable……..

If you sold quite a few a week and was prepared to by tied up to a 3 year contract. 🙄

The machine was something like 35 quid a week and the stamps were starting from around 8 quid each blank. the mark up was good but I think that sort of thing is ideal for a shop. and when he tried to tie my m8 phill up to a 3 yr deal there and then “As we dont have a agent in your area” We ran a mile.

But i did get a free stamp out of it 🙂

Nigel i did try and get the customer to use Alucolour ( Europoints version , trie dit b4 and it is very good) but he didn’t want to go to the extra expense 🙁 I did tell him all the pro’s but he wanted Foam …..in my view when they are spending that much on a sign a few extra quid for a longer lasting sign makes more sence.

but as they say teh customer is always wrong . sorry i meant right

Cheers Rob sounds like a great idea, but in all honesty do u think it would warent a back board? I’d go with the experiance of u guys here and not me beinga bit OTT. Cherwell recon i don’t but then again they don’t fit the signs.

Chris that is who i was going to use, but looking at their prices and at Robs demo i’m going to take the plunge and order the materials in and make it myself.

But as it’s going on a corogated metal wall with roughly 6″ between each high spot on the metal should i use exterior ply backboard or not worry (?)

it stops 95% of pop ups, downside is if you open a link that needs another window u have to turn it off quickly, but then u just restart it.

but u def need to scan for adware, the program Rob uses is good but i find this one much beter

Best purchase i think i have made on vector software and i have bought some duff ones from pc world b4 🙁 , Thanks Brian your a top bloke.

I’d suggest any one starting out to by this great package as there is soo much on there that most of what you need you will be able to find. and within 1 or 2 jobs it’s paid for it’s self.

    Interesting subject..

I put my A board up last week out the front of the garage and someone last night curled it up, now not sure if it’s a drunk( pub over road) or someone else , not happy bunny , but if it was in teh wrong place all they had to do was ask me to move it ……

John i know i’m relativley new to all this , but when i chose my company name thats why i didn’t use the “Town” name, i used a derivative (Rob check my spelling pls 🙂 ) of it, so instead of Aylesbury Signs & Grafix, (I live in Aylesbury Vale, which is buckinghamshires county district council. ) I chose Vale Signs & Grafix to encompase the whole area and beyond.

Only time will tell if i got it right 😕
